Davison did OK but didn't exactly outperform Mostert or even Waters.

Amazing how things change.

Davey wins Bathurst in 2017, and but for muscle cramps should have won again in 2018.

Seemingly on top of the world with a motivated team, a gun engineer, an eager team-mate, and a happy home life.

Enough to ink a 10-year deal.

So how did it all change so quickly?

Sadly he got slapped down for the "say hi to Levi and Chili" remark and again for the PW comment at Bathurst.

Maybe the motorsport media became obsessed with the "class clown" tag and it's worn him out. He looks and sounds jaded.

But wasnt there a "partner" issue I read about earlier on involving Davey and or the Team and or not being welcome? Hence this big issue here????

The latest Below the Bonnet podcast episode was a fan Q&A. The most asked and engaged-with question on social media (where they took the questions from) was about Dave's future.

The fact that this wasn't acknowledged even slightly suggests he's off somewhere else.

If he was staying, he could answer the question and bat away the rumours.

Sometimes those personal relationships are important, like Story, DJ & Will Davo.

I guess it's not always about a driver as a plug-in performance component!

Erebus has form with this - look what they did to Peter Hackett in the SLS days - sure not the greatest driver ever in but Hollywood was defineately shafted
