Dixon's the _only_ possibility. The others are gone. Good riddance to Kannan and Franchitti.

Not even Kannan??
Is there any other stories about other IRL drivers coming over for 2004 season? |

Only Dixon – but when the money is right we will see Dario and perhaps Gil again...

Yep, I agree, Dixon. But out of those drivers, Frachitti is the most likely to return as he's really done nothing since switching over. He's a talented driver and I think he enjoys turning right sometimes.

Out of that list, Franchitti, but it's a 10% chance...I expect to see Dixon back though.

None of these will be back.
Also you can count Paul Tracy, Bruno Junquiera and Patrick Carpentier amongst the departing. Tracy I suspect will be NASCAR, the others I dunno. Without Player's, Visteon or a big contrac to sell (CDM) no CART team has the money to pay the millions these guys require. |

PT'll stay as long as there's a series.
Maybe he'll start doing some NASCAR and ALMS, but that's it, so long as CART's around. |

I keep hearing that Visteon will be leaving at the end of the year. Why? Aren't Visteon a major supplier to Ford, and wouldn't Ford's involvement in the series keep Visteon here? Or am I confused or naieve?

Franchetti and Dixon are possibilities. I think Dario got sold a bill of goods with the promise of a F1 test. He may be back. I think Dixon would rather be here than there. If he wants to go to F1, he will need to come back here first. I know Thomas Scheckter (I know that is spelled wrong) wants to follow his Jodie to F1. He has got to know that he can't get there from where he is driving now. I know, he didn't drive CART, but I think he is a possibility except I don't know the particulars of his contract. He's a wild one though.

Dixon will most certainly be back. He's only there because of a watertight contract that there was no possibility of breaking.
As for the others, who cares. And Tracy won't be going anywhere. The suggest otherwise is ridiculous. |

Bruno would go to F1 if anyone would take him, but I suspect it'll be a midpack Sauber for him if he gets there. I expect Bourdais will get the Renault drive Jacques thinks is reserved for him.
PT will finish his racing career at CART and retire with honour. Maybe he'll do some sports car racing just to see, but if Rally ever comes to North America, I'd look for him in a WRC car! |

Tracy won't leave CART. As for the loss of Player's as a sponsor, Forsythe can get other sponsorship, he's pretty powerful and since their team is so successful, it won't be hard. I wouldn't be too surprised to see a Canadian beer company on board...

Scheckter had a F1 testing role with Jaguar which he screwed up, so he might have some difficulty returning to F1

PT's already contracted for next year, and I've no doubt he'll be back. He's gonna want to defend his championship, afterall!
I agree with most here, in that the only driver that might return is Dixon. Scheckter is also a possibility. Ain't gonna happen, but I'd welcome Kanaan, deFerran and Hornish, who must feel let down from his Chevy engine. |

I think Dario is the only guy likely to come back, but I don't know if it would be next year. He's getting towards the end of his career, money probably isn't as much of an issue and he's a much better road racer then oval racer.
If and it's a pretty substantial IF, CART appears more stable, has stronger sponsorship guys like Dario might come back. However, it might be a satalite Andretti-Green effort. PT has been very loyal, but it was also easy for him. This time last year there were all sorts of speculation where he'd end up. |

I'm sure Dario is on more than a one year contract at AGR. Sure contracts don't mean that much nowadays, but someone would have to pay it out.
As for Dixon, i guess it depends what Toyota can promise with regards to F1. I reckon he'll stay where he is, but who knows. The rest of them i'd say will follow wherever their teams go, so it's unlikely they'll return to CART next year. |

Jacques said that he wouldn't come back to CART right now because it's not as strong as it was (in terms of field and competition).
A statement which says 1. Pollock's team is not for Jacques, and 2. He's right. Compared to last year, when he and Montoya were at Miami, it's dropped down a bit certainly. |

I think Dario wants to be in CART, he was duped into beleiving that CART would be worthless in 2003, and seems to miss road/street racing. Dixon is only there because his contract forces him to, Ganassi ripped CART off big time. Most of them will probably only return if they get a bigger money offer, which is unlikely.

Franchitti burned a bridge, at least with this fan, when he criticized the CART safety officials last year. He basically implied that they had put his life at risk because he was IRL-bound. He went from being one of my favourite drivers to one of my least, instantly.
But I've no ill feelings toward Kanaan, Dixon or deFerran. |

The only ones I've got ill-feeling towards are Dario, Mikey, Roger, but most of all, Ganassi. He's scum.
