According to Piston Nishizawa (radio DJ),
there is a rumor that GTA is planning to postpone Thailand and Sepang round to the winter (January?) this season. |

There is a rumor that GTA will hold the opening round in summer, the final domestic race in November and December, and Thailand round and Sepang round in January and February.

Still have some hope they will race Suzuka in November or December, might be a good 'holiday' opportunity

IMO Japan may be the first nation to reopen its motorsport races than the others in the world, under the strong effort from self-disciplined Japanese, I think their situation may soon under control.

In the end Japan will take more time to held races again. China already did it last weekend at Ningbo (Honda OMR series). But most importantly, hopefully this pandemic will end soon & people can attend races safely.
The drivers for #52 Supra GT300 are Hiroki Yoshida & Kohta Kawaai (rookie). |

Speaking of the current GT500 regulations, Super GT should keep the costs down so that privateers can enter the class. Maybe they should consider adapting the Next-Gen NASCAR regulations but don't take it seriously though.

I am not so sure about that. Japan's low infection figures are probably not reflective of the genuine situation. |

jp.motorsport.com is reporting that BMW had a concrete plan to participate in GT500 class in 2020 according to Team Studie BOB Suzuki.
However, that was falled through in last summer. This is because of differences in interpretation regarding unification of regulations between Japan and Germany, tire competitions, etc. BMW's intentions are currently unknown as AUDI withdraws from DTM, but at least as of March of this year it was positive about joining the GT500. https://jp.motorsport.com/supergt/ne...GT500/4789400/ Last edited by Japanese Samurai; 9 May 2020 at 07:43. |

Takeo Inagaki (NISMO power train development) said to Autosport that they've made significant improvements to the ignition. It's an attempt that they've never experienced before, and not only create a spark, but a combustion (in ignition).
From this comment, Autosport surmises that Nissan has introduced a pre-chamber ignition. https://www.as-web.jp/supergt/584790/2 |

Hi, just a random question.
In Super GT, is there post-race inspection at last race of the season? Sometimes I thought it would be a mess if you're already celebrated it & then you got bad news for not passing it. |

Good question. I would be surprised if there wasn't. They probably have some sort of protocol. It's a professional series, so they need to check everything

Of course, there is a car inspection after the race even in the season final.
So the podium will be held based on provisional results. |

Understood. So all things on podium celebrations at last race, are based on provisionals.
Wherever you are, I hope all of us can stay healthy while waiting race season to be started/restarted. |

According to Super GT official web page,
as rumored, Team Rookie's entrant name is KTR. They must have bought the seeding rights of KTR. https://supergt.net/tandds/team/2020/419 |

Autoprove is reporting interesting analisys of Subaru BRZ GT300.
https://autoprove.net/subaru/sti-technology/191525/ Subaru measured the power-to-weight ratio of the BRZ's rival FIA-GT3 cars at the Motegi round in 2017. This is because Motegi is the final round of the season, and the car is not equipped with success ballast, and also because it is "stop-go" circuit, it is easy to measure an acceleration rate. Concretely speaking, the performance of the FIA-GT3s was measured by video analysis. As a result, the power-to-weight ratio of FIA-GT3 cars is within the range of 2.3 to 2.5 kg/ps of the performance window, which is a big difference from the BRZ GT300. If they apply the BRZ GT300's specs to the FIA-GT3's performance window, the BRZ's specs are located outside the lower section of performance window. Simply saying, a lower power-to-weight ratio is faster, but the acceleration rate of the BRZ GT300 is inferior to that of the FIA-GT3s. So they have decided to improve performance in tire cornering grip, chassis equivalent cornering power (tire grip increased by suspension), Cd values (low drag), and downforce (optimized for each track). To improve cornering speed, the front aero shape was changed. However, when they actually drove the car, they found that it did not produce the same results as the CFD and simulations. The reason was a tire degradation. So they analysed the corners with the highest tyre load and the most efficient corners to shorten the lap times. At Fuji Speedway, the 100R had a higher load on the tires but did not contribute as much to the lap times. It is easy to shorten lap times at the first corner, hairpin and final corner. Have there been any reactions in Japan to the news of Audi pulling out of DTM? Does this put a question mark behind Class-1 in Japan as well or will Super GT soldier on with the Class-1 cars for the foreseeable future?
