Big Improvers since 2002
I have to say that the driver in the Formula Renault series who has made the biggest improvement on the their results from last year is..... Susie Stoddart.
I think that she is one top girl. For example at Silverstone last year she qualified about 21st on the grid and this year for the equivelant meeting she qualifies 6th. She was with a good team last but I think she lacked the experience that some of the other drivers had but that did stop her sheer grit and determination to do well, like for example when she was taken out at Snett last through no fault of her own rejoined about "half an hour" behind everyone else she then caught them up and passed a fair few. This year with a top team like motorworld she is doing fantasticly well and to be in the top ten in the series is great. I have supported Susie throughout last year and this year and she is one of a few drivers who will take the time and chat to you which i think is really nice. I like to think other people agree with me on this post. Jamie |

Susie is really good. And getting better. The only other high profile girl was Katherine Legge, and I think Susie is better. Susie grows each time out.
Where is she getting her data? Who is her team mate? <indulge me > |

And an experienced team behind her Jinxxy. But if it makes you happy, I am sure Alex has contributed more to her success this year than all other aspects put together. OK?

This sounds like the girl is getting a bit too quick for Mr Jinxx's liking, and a bit to close too Mr Lloyd's lap and testing times. |

Menghello is starting to hook the car up as well. Good team effort, all working together so it seems.

Susie has done a very good job so far, but I still think there's quite a bit more to come from her.
Likewise Rossiter. He showed flashes of promise last year with the lower budget Falcon team. Bear in mind that was his first season of car racing - with only one season of club karting prior to that. To be leading a championship of the quality of Formula Renault with such little experience is mightily impressive. |

Is it not the same James Rossiter that was disqualified from a Shenington race meeting in the winter of 99 for having a massively illegal engine. He was running 5th on the track. If it is the same James Rossiter ( which as far as I am aware it is) then he has done a lot more than one years kart racing before he moved to cars. That's not to say he isn't doing well this year as he is, I just think your history of him is missing a 'tad' |

I rated Ryan Sharp. I think he is good. He was quick and fairly consistent last year in the JVA car, and to put that into perspective. this year that car hasn't shown much in the top 3. Had he stayed in the UK, he would definitely have been a contender this year in my view.

I think that Michael Spencer has done reasonably well. Straight form karts - one season in Zip and then relatively near the front in renaults .... well at least always in the top 10 and I believe hes run as high as 4th or 5th in a few rounds?

Surely Michael Conway needs a mention on this thread? From a mediocre year with Van Diemen in FFord last year, he won his first race in FR at Donnington by 15 seconds in the wet and came second in the winter series, and has shown he can mix it with the top flight of second year FR drivers in this championship in his rookie year.
Also, Alex Lloyd looks good doesn't he? Very quick, very consistant and a mature head on his shoulders. Good with the mike too. Agree about Ryan Sharp too, class act. |

I also think Mike Spencer has done a great job. That said, I hear he's still not totally happy with his set-up, so if the team can accomodate him, it sounds like there's better to come.

Looks like that to me, the lad seems to have a history of using illegal parts.
