SPOONERBORO should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
time to bring f1 into a major change - not the ruling of aerodynamics cause i dont think you will ever get that right teams will always bend the rules etc.

I think teams should be made to use universal parts ie they all have the same (exactly) gearboxes/transmissions, traction systems, brakes, etc etc etc

Engines should be closed off the shelf units limited to a ceratin bhp and monitored

Tyres should be made by one company

bernie should be dumped to let the fia have overall rights, and that as many teams as can be are brought into play

teams should be allowed to race three cars

there should be two races on race day a sprint race 25laps and a enurance race of 50+ laps

we should have a night race

an extra long team endurance race 12 hours or so

its time to bring the sport to the spectators and bring back the spectacle of f1 being the ultimate of motosporting world - indy is closing fast!!

well what do guys and gals think, post your suggestions!!

I agree with the night race thing, and having three cars, but not the others. It would be to much like F3000 or the Premier 1 series to have spec chassis etc

night racing ? what do u wanna kill some1 ? these r the fastest cars to race with. u cant put them on night racing..this is silly..

i like the fact that all cars r equal...then we would watch f1 on driver skills.

If the cars are all equal there will be even less overtaking than now, especially if you kept the aerodynamics the same. You need marked differences in the performance of cars for them to be able to overtake, e.g. Williams' very high top speed etc.

night racing would be interesting, not silly. I'm thinking of Le Mans or Sebring. Is an Audi R8 doing 220 down the Mistral straight not unlike an F1 car, speed wise? Would it be more dangerous in a Ferrari or McLaren? After all, the track would be lit (could you imagine an F1 car with headlights??)

CART has a good thing going. Kind of like a spec series with more choices...

i don't know about a lap race but the other ideas were alright, except for only having 1 tyre maker. And for the engine, that's pretty much indy or cart.

The only suggestion I agree with here is three drivers per team. Then see Ferrari try and find a second driver willing to undergo TGF's every need .

F1 cars have no lights. And putting them on would increase the weight.

I thought Fomula Palmer Audi went broke, didn't it? Why are you trying to re-invent it?

How about this: All pilots have to pay to race. Prize money for the top 10 and everyone else has to top up the pot. Oh wait, that's stock car racing.

No, leave it as it is, only bring the cars back from 1979 (and the pilots too.)

I see too many things wrong with too many of those ideas. If you're going to have 1 of anything who will make it? How do you think the other manufacturers will respond?
I agree with dumping Bernie. The only way to slow these cars is to make them tow a trailer.

One word people - SUPER-POLE

Run the top 10 in reverse order, in Race trim. Geez, you can even through in a point 4 it. On the right day TGF starts in 10th, Kimi on pole. Do it I says, Do it

I think cost cutting is good, but night races are a silly idea, all though, that is my personnal opinion. Three cars a team is not so good either. Teams like Minardi would have even less chance of a top six result.

I agree with the three cars. Teams should have to run a minimum of two (as now), but are alowed to run a third car in certain races, or the full season if they wish. With this there should be a change in the points system (maybe along similar lines to CART) so that the smaller teams have a chance of having something to show for their work at the end of the season.
As for spec, there's only one thing that should be spec, and that is the ECU and stop al this driver aid cr*p.
As for night races. Get away.
How about a little fun. Let's draw up the regs we'd like to see in F1. Maybe we can help each other out (especially those more technically minded) with how best to police or control the regs.

Ignoring night races (though if NASCARs can do it without lights, then surely F1 can, but...... why??), i think standardised parts is a far more interesting avenue for this topic to go down.

I brought up the issue of standardised parts (likein BTCC) a couple of weeks ago. It would bring costs down, encouraging more smaller teams and also even things out a bit.

Whadda you think??

While they are on with all these changes they should rename F1 to F3000 (except they can't).

Someone mentioned in another post that the one thing that makes F1 unique in single seater racing is that all teams must build their own chassis. In F1 the team is just as important as the driver.

I like the idea of a sprint race and a main event but I can not see a night race happening - just too damn dangerous. Perhaps the sprint race could be instead of qualifying and hold a qualifying session for the sprint race.

I also agree that teams should be alowed to race 3 cars if they so wish but 2 cars should be nominated for the constructors championship.

well standard parts would be good in competition with the drivers. but usually this deal is called a "Buy" deal where u buy parts n use them. if the parts r upgraded then every team gets those parts to use. U cant test on these parts and upgrade them. so if 1 team does this, that team gets an illegal advantage. Thats why they prefer to build their own stuff.

using a cart system would screw the small teams even more: how often do you see an arrows leading, or a minardi and never get pole. If f1 listened to lauda, you'd have the most exciting motorsport.
