PieMan should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Thanks for all the feedback. One thing that makes things slightly more complicated at Silverstone is that Course & Incident marshals are allocated by the ES Team and Observers & Flaggies by their Chiefs and they don't necessarily stand in the place. Anyway we'll see what we can do.

I won't start logging any volunteering until the official forms for 2008 are out (and I have confirmation that the BRSCC will be the permit holders for the meeting) so watch this space.

Is this an event where only experienced marshals are used? Reading through old threads of this event it really does sound like a "must do" but by then I'd still have only 1 years experience as I've only done 1 meeting so far with my second next month. So at best would still be a trainee then.

I was a trainee for my first one too - although I had done 35 events by then and am waiting for my two upgrades to come through

And I'll do a BBQ & curry like the GP.
So I take it that I'm the Scouser in question Paul? Count me in. I was so hacked off missing this years 24 hours. I was sat at the computer with the MST timing screen on and live commentry streaming. Mind you I did have more than 2 hours sleep!

I suspect that looking at the regs for Britsports and PS1 that the date for the 24 hour will now be a week earlier on the 11/12/13/14 September...The Thursday normally would be a test day.. http://www.eerc.co.uk/cms/e107_plugins/wrap/wrap.php?3

Roy,

If those dates are correct then they (we) are running at Rockingham the same weekend as the GP!

Yes I noticed that... There are a few marshals that don't like the GP I suppose....

Something strange going on with these dates -

Britsports - 11th September x 50min & 14th September x 50min

Prod S1 - 13th September, 1 x 50mins

If their races are on the Thu, Sat & Sun - when will the 24hr be?????

Good to see the Donington night race back next year, another race to add to the calendar.

Not a good move. Rockingham struggles for marshals at the best of times & there's a serious risk of not being able to adequately cover this event. I know of several of the Rockingham faithful, myself included, who are planning to marshal the GP.

Don't worry, there are many of us who actively look for an alternative to the GP week-end, you may find the biggest turn out ever as a result.

Which dates? I'm confused!!

I presume the 24 hour is clashing with Motorfest (or whatever it's called next year) not the F1 GP?????

I'm with you on this one, I too have no desire to do the GP and after the farce this years championship has been I have decided to never take the option. There are always good clubbie events that appreciate we give our time and effort!
See you at the Rock Woolley!

If all goes to plan there would be none of the usual 3 pit marshals. Cause me and my dad have applied for the GP and simon has last several years.

It is. The clash with the GP is the meeting at Rockingham which has a Britcar round.
