Was Speed TV trying to fit 500 advert breaks in to the Daytona race?
This was not a good example for the new car or attracting casual fans after yesterdays crashes. |

Congrats to Jimmie.
Some of the names in the top 10 are shocking. Danica ran and finished in the top 10, but you also have Regan Smith for Finch, then a team that normally starts and parks in 9th, then the Golden Corral car for TBR finishing in the top 10, meaning that whole kids eat free thing on Monday. We will probably never see a couple of those names in the top 10 again. |

Young Earnhardt timed it right at the end there and Danica got to the end.
Yeah it was boring. Which doesn't seem to square with the idea on the Larson thread that NASCAR will do 'anything' for entertainment. |

Bit of an anti-climax that Johnson won.

Really disappointed for Ambrose who looked to have a top 5 finish in his sights later in the race, but just couldn't seem to pick the best train to hook up with.

it was obvious that the outside line was much quicker to go around, but he stayed in and got stuck in the traffic, allgood was a pretty average race. not alot of overtaking, was funny seeing Dani-car going back spots on that last lap. she done pretty good throughout the day, I thought she wouldn't of lasted more then 10 laps at the front. she can steer..a bit.

The bottom lane lost whatever chance they had when Joey went three wide up the middle, instead of helping to push the line forward. Effectively, the 22 being in the middle line broke up the bottom line. Sad for the guys that had done everything they had to to get into contention up until then, only to get punked by a little punk. Ambrose and Gordon were inside R3 and R4 on the last restart and got shuffled to the deep teens at the finish.
Oh well, all the Daytona hype is past, and seeing as the next few tracks rely more on the driver than power, at least Danicamania will tone down a bit. On to the opener of the REAL racing season : Phoenix Last edited by The Original Instag8or; 25 Feb 2013 at 08:10. |

I thought I did rather well this year, managed about 50 laps before turning off and watching a documentary about manufacturing screws and fixings! It was only 35 last year.
Maybe it was because I didnt watch the hours of hype. But mainly, because I can't get a decent feed I had to listen and watch a 3 hour commercial, occasionally interrupted by a few stock cars going round a track, how Americans put up with it I will never know But fair play to you you have iron will!!! |

I didn't see any this time, but yes it goes on. No problem with that, i like it, specially if they had F-somethings. Quite a lot of sporting events have this. Le Mans has quite a lot too.
