VSCC - LS&ES Welsh Weekend
It's that time of year again!
The VSCC Light Car and Edwardian Section Welsh weekend - March 27-28th looks interesting... Are there many LC&ES members here? |

I shall try and persuade Mrs C that she would enjoy a weekend in Wales, up a muddy hill and if I can put together an eligible motor car I shall enter, an M type as I'm an MG man, my MG's a bit big 2468cc and considerably more than 30hp I hope.

Great Drop me an email (I have no idea yet how you do that on the Forum) and I'll send some regs.
As for 2486cc....Yes - may be a tad unfair |

I was at work for 13 years before I got my first pocket calculator it wouldn't even do square roots and cost, then in 1974 about £40.00 the same as the average weekly wage. Last edited by MGCooperman; 30 Jan 2004 at 09:47. |

Social arrangements!!!!!
Dear Alan
You can certainly be assured of a friendly welcome - it is certainly worth booking the dinner tickets asap - you're more than likely to find somewhere to kip, assuming you get to kip - last year "Steady" Barker continued his after dinner speech in the bar until 6.30 a.m.!!!!!!!!! Dear Ranter Beer - too right!!! Same restaurant as last year????????? |

If you get your entry form is now you should be OK...but don't hang around! So far there have been twice as many requests for regs as there are places! We are currently trying to extend the number of entries allowed - but the number of dinner tickets for the Saturday evening may be limited. Mind you there is always the bar
Also this year, on the Friday evening for those coming early, we have also secured a free entry and tour of the national cycle museum which is just next door to the Metropole. Including apparently many original letters from Austin and Dunlop, both of whom have ties with the town. Oh yes, this year our guest speaker promises not to talk until 6:30mile (More the pity - he's good!) |

A feature of the LC&ES Rally Summer Rally last year was that the speeds were low, and as you can see Annabel had plenty of time left are working out the route to have a picnic. Alternatively, and it is not unknown to find a car without any sign of the occupants at all, where is Kevin? We know what you're doing! The Welsh Rally promises to be a tougher route this year (being based on the original 1924 Route), and we (Catherine and I are organising the Summer Rally) hope that the Summer Rally will have navigational clues suitable to challange most abilities. See you there. Duncan |

For the non-VSCC'ists here, the Welsh is a hoot! I have friends in Presteigne and invited myself down for the weekend a couple of years running just to get the chance to watch a couple of the bits that were open to the public. Great to watch and people are more than happy to answer daft questions about their cars. As for the evenings' carousing in Presteigne, even in my guise as pseudo-local it was so enjoyable I cant actually remember the name of the pub in Presteigne where it all took place (hic).....

This is about the LC&ES section Spring event in Llandridnod. The VSCC (Vintage only) WELSH trial is at the Radnorshire Prestigne in October. However both are a hoot, just go to the right B&B |

Welcome Mikey!
Mikey
Mrs B and I look forward to resuming battle in Llandrindod Wells. Glad to hear that you are bringing Dean's Mercer - Mrs B has a thing about spellings at the moment so I have to be especially careful. Will you be at the Pom? If so, see you there, and give Mrs B a wave in her TinkyWinky suit. Duncan Both Welsh weekends are terrific, but have similar but different characters. The LC&ES involves a serious(ish) dinner, and a terrific carpark behind the Metropole, and a Rally and a Trial. The VSCC version is at Presteigne, involves a Rally (or two) and a Trial, and a terrific carpark all around Presteigne. Both represent the original club as they are purely Vintage (and I say this as a Vinatge member who also has PVTs). Join the LC&ES and do both events has to be the best advice!!! |
