Eventually the new 6.3 W12 (as seen on the new A8 with 500 NA hp) will be turboed and replace the older 6.0 W12 twin turbo. 700 hp should be easily doable for that engine.

Yeah...they'll make them race with it at the weight of the road car if they used a turbo W12....this car will no doubt feature the smaller 5.0L V8 (looking towards GTE in a few years).

I dont think its an official car either with any factory backing or development AFAIK.

I'm sure Swiss Team recieve some funding from Maserati for the Superstars project, although they are not a fully works team they are an offical team hence why Bertolini who is the official Maserati test driver drove for them last year.

Thanks. Im guessing Maserati would rather make more money out of the Trofeo World Series and the GT4 car then make a GT3.

Not in GT3 they couldn't - but it would be a nice stepping stone towards something bigger in the future.

I think it's fair to say that the new car price is too cheap because of price cap rather than upgrade kit is too expensive.
The business model of GT3 seems to be sale of an upgrade kit.

Yeah the price cap would bite into the profit margins so the upgrades would have to be the money spinners, no doubt helped by every man and his dog bringing out upgrades every year, its a vicious cycle.

Although I cant help but be reminded of an interview with Ron Dennis I think it was who said that they werent making any money off the GT3 car, whether he meant as a whole or just the car without the upgrades is open to interpretation. Although I could not imagine McLaren not making money out of gentlemen racers. the F1 GTR programme was supposed to make more money then the roadcars themselves.

So 315K is All the car in parts, if i'm correct, choose what you need and pay what you need, am I correct? But built it yourself.

(Nobody pays 315K unless you wanted to build the whole car yourself in addition to not owning the car).
