Trying to spread your gloom again Eurocars? Very few individual series have a stand at Autosport so why single out SCSA?

I just had a trawl through previous posts, and most of his SCSA type posts are in the negative vein.

His negative vibes may actually rebound and cause an upsurge in interest. I've seen that happen before.

Rob.

Calendar was released at the start of October but, judging by posts in various forums, the road course dates are still very tentative and SCSA are still negotiating with MSV.

Next week's issue of Autosport confirms that SCSA will not be visiting MSV tracks.

To be honest thats a good call.
Ive been very warey about the circuits meetings.
The thing with the scsa that attracts me is the whole package at rockingham, the views the speed the crashes! thats what makes it.
Ok they are struggling a bit at present but i think it will pull through.
I feel they should try and work closer with the short ovals like spedeworth.
I went to the world hot rod final this year that was brillant but not one flier was being handed out for scsa.
I feel a ladder system should be created where youngsters start in ministox or minisprints and though rods or stox can work towards that goal.
When i finally step back from racing its my intention to create a RTS Minisprint team, thats where Jeff Gordon started.

I think part of the problem is that SCSA is basically still an unknown; oval racing isn't really a big thing in Britain - circuit racing is far more popular and known of.

Personally I prefer a race where the drivers actually have to turn right occasionally, all of this going round and round in circles malarky just sends me to sleep. round and round and round and ooh one's fallen off, put the saftey car out, everyone pits, then more round and round untill another one falls off.

I fancy that I'm not the only one with such a view, and that this could be part of the problem?

Road course dates are binned, and the remaining 6 Rockingham dates are also under review. SCSA is now separated from Rockingham Performance Park, as it is now called, and have to hire the track on race days.
With a scarcity of cars in 2005, will teams be bothered for just 6 race days or less? No matter what gloss RPP put on the situation, it does seem that things are in a dire strait and I wonder if it will be around for much longer.

AFAIK the 6 dates are under review with regard to the road course date gaps - ie. the dates are under review, the six weekends themselves are not in question.

That makes sense, it's quite possible they could add extra dates at Rockingham to fill the gaps left by the absence of the road course events.

Not over and above the six dates, though - the circuit can't hold any more race meetings than that IIRC.

They've been able to have more than six events per season at Rockingham up to now, but I know that is changing - I believe for 2006 - due to planning restrictions or something.

That is not how it was written in Autosport John....'Its calendar will again be limited to 6 weekends on the Rockingham oval, with those dates also under review.'

The bad news is according to MN BRSCC will be running SCSA this year. God Help SCSA. It will mean new Senior Officials and marshals who have little or NO Experience on a speedway

Weren't the BARC running these events before? Has it been said anywhere why they are changing to the BRSCC?

It's in today's Motoring News (apparently!) and is correct.
