Reminds me of attending a car that blew his engine on the first practice lap of the first meeting of the year. He confessed that his pre-season preparation consisted of dipping the oil, and he'd forgotton to do it!

Also went to one who'd done a full ground-up rebuild. Everything except putting oil on the wheel bearing.

most of you know what i'm doing to mine, but just incase you've missed it,
respray, new leda suspension, poly windows, bigger front brakes, new bigger turbo, sierra RS 500 intercooler, the engines just gained a 16valve head and got 200cc bigger so its now just over 2.4 and a change to a close ratio gearbox.

as for my team mates, contray to paddock talk AW64 will be out in his escort next year with a new even closer ratio gearbox, after 4 DNF's and DNS's in a row at the start of last season culminatling in a blown engine in may, greg pye finally got his car back in november after the last TRC round, and promptly won a couple of races at stowe, so he will be out with no changes but well relieved that the bugs have been ironed out.

as we already know nick williams has bought a Cossy to play in class A, Kris Waite should be back out again in a cossy. Graham Brindly is planning to put the engine from his cossy in a Mk2 escort that sounds like a recipy for oversteer, oversteer and more oversteer.

And, of course, my little monster WILL be ready. Engine - sorted. Gearbox - sorted. Rear axle - sorted. Oil - in tank.

I have two wheel rims that require a little machining (they're spare spares), would like to fit a passenger seat.

Thinking of Castle Combe, I'm looking at improving the silencing.

Currently planning dry-break refuelling, and re-installing the air jacks.

Oh yes, and dipping the oil, makings sure that all wheel bearings have sufficient lubricants, etc....

Rob.

Oh and I forgot, the question! Well I am getting the 3rd gen IROC into the garage this weekend (in between the Christmas nonsense of course) and plan to attack it for a few days with a view for bringing it out in Class B. Would like to fit glassfibre doors and Lexan windows as it would bring it down lighter than Robs Belmont but the budget may be a bit slim once I have shelled out for tyres. Anyone know how to bend a whacking great piece of Lexan to the shape of a 3rd Gen Camaro glass hatch and make fibreglass doors? anynne know where you are racing as I don't want to go to Stowe or Lydden> Will I be wasting me money as it seems these tracks and Brands Indy (yuk) are the mainstays for this series.

Bills going to try and screw some more power out of the engine and hopefully more revs and I am shedding some weight from the car as it is to heavy.

we also already know that jason watkins is looking at throttle bodies, and that Alan Cherry is swapping his group N engine for something with some power, speaking of cherry's hopefully we will see alan's brother Andrew out in his Tomcat, which now has Steve Govitts Tomcat engine.

Added to this, cousin Phil should be out in my old fiesta (RS1800) as he actually passed a medical for his licence today.( I still own it, so there's a clause in there somewhere where he has to finish behind me ).
Cousins pal Darren (forget his last name - sprints a Nissan Skyline thingy) has bought an Opel Manta to come out to play, and I'm told Darrens uncle has a 900 bhp Skyline that is coming out to play - but I haven't seen it yet.
