Honda S2000 Rally Car??

I've been circuit racing for a few years now but fancy moving into rallying - initially tarmac and then gravel/forest.

I run a Honda tuning company and want to run a Honda but would like RWD so my question is would a Honda S2000 with a hartop be eligible for rallying (in terms of the Blue Book). I've been through the general and rally tech regs but I cant find anything about convertables with hard tops.

Any help would be great

I'm pretty sure the hard top would need to be welded on (the 307 WRC used the 'flip top lid' version of the 307 but had to have the roof welded in position). I've not seen any convertibles used on a rally stage beyond the 307 (there is an s2000 used in rallycross). If you want to run Honda power and rwd then you could always put the S2000 engine and gearbox into a Mk2 Escort - there are quite a few out there with that set up already. Failing that it should still be possible to convert a fwd shell to rwd (not as easy at it used to be but still possible) so a rwd civic is doable. The best bet is to either give the MSA a ring and ask them directly or get hold of your local MSA scrutineer and go through the options with them (they'll be the ones issuing the log book for the car anyway so it's good to get them involved early - especially if you're going for a rwd conversion).

As it states above I'd contact msa scrutineering before spending money but there are definitely some Porsche Boxsters rallying in the uk with removable hard tops fitted.....
