For now, why not just enjoy the racing and Sutton's talent on show? |

I am intrigued to know what are the elements of the scooby chassis that they have managed to engineer into the Infiniti. |

Here's why I feel making such bold decisions against such little evidence is a futile game. Only a matter of weeks ago, you were saying:

Don't think so. Brands GP has never been a RWD track has it? I would put my money on Cammish and Cook for this week

No, Brands GP has never really favoured the RWD cars. Not to say they won’t be competitive, just no big advantage from them

I wonder if Andrew Jordan will knock off some cobwebs and enter his Miglia? That race should be the highlight of the supports. They've got 56 entered! Presumably they aren't all on track together?

Potentially, yes. One can start 46 saloons on the GP circuit, all of whom - obviously - need to practice. However, in practice, the maximum number of permitted cars increases by 20% in order to allow reserves the chance to qualify. As such, all entered cars could be on track during qualifying.

Here's hoping Jake has a fit and healthy engine. The lad and the FK2 have always looked good at Brands.
Cookie I can see running well, ditto the Dynamics duo. I reckon the BMWs will be solid rather than spectacular. And I can see Ash Sutton pushing too hard as I don't think the car and track will be as well suited as Donny - but what do I know? |

He admitted that - and said he would be even more so this season.
An interesting tactic given the amount of drivers who have commented that they need to preserve their machinery with the condensed season. Or is it just mind games to make other drivers wary of him when they see him in their mirrors. |

Other drivers may also choose to be more robust at certain points throughout the rest of the season. |

Sutton did seem to be pushing almost unnecessarily hard at times - it seems similar to Plato's old style of always push to the maximum, even if it means crashing going for 1st instead of settling for 2nd. It makes for exciting racing for sure, but I wonder how many times he'll come a cropper before having a re-think? Although aggression and risk-taking is a big part of what makes the BTCC so great to watch, the fact is that consistency, prudence and caution is usually the more successful strategy.
I suspect there's also an element of him wanting to silence people who said it was just the Subaru that made him so fast. |

Yeah, I’ve always seen him as a hard charger, which makes him exciting to watch, especially in cars that aren’t up to it, like the Scooby at times. At the same time, he very rarely steps over the mark. A modern tin top legend

Sutton and Turkington are great examples of totally different approaches. Ash is always giving 110% even if he is comfortably in the top 3 that could earn him good points but he'll always give everything to try and grab the win - even if it means crashing out.
Colin is more cautious, when he's second he'll try to catch the first but not at all costs and when he sees the chances are not great he settles for big points day. I like Sutton's style, he's exciting to watch but I hope if he's got real chances for the title, he'll be thinking of banking points too. Brands could be a test for Infiniti. I hope it's not another inconsistent car just like Subaru that needs 150% approach to do reasonable results. |
