National Hot Rod world championship 2008
Well its only two weeks untill one of the best motorsport event of this year, the world final.
Will Carl Boardly make it three in a row? Im a fan of Blackman (peugeot no 911) but I fancy Matt Simpson's chance's on the big one. Thoughts comments? |

IMO I think bad luck might hit Boardly this time as it nearly did in 2006 and so I am going to go with Steve Thompson.

The key word in there Paddockman is "nearly"! That man could fall face down in a pile of poo and still come up smelling of roses!

how do you have "national" & "world" in a single championship - is this being held at a NASCAR event is it?

National Hot Rod is the class of car - NHRPA organise it with Spedeworth.
There are NHR championships in England, Scotland, Ireland, Belgium? they all score points toward qualification to this race the World Final. Its one of the best two day race meetings to spectate at in the world. |

Carl Boardley won it (3rd Time in a row!!) at a canter really, cruised away from pole, with race long battle raging for 2nd/3rd/4th about half a lap back at the chequered flag. 1st Carl Boardley 2nd Matt Simpson. 3rd Mike Riordan. 4th Chris Haird. Makes my comment earlier in this thread look good! Anyone but Blackman,
He is a proper stock driver, but sadly racing in a non-contact formula We want Neal Smith back, then people will start to go and watch Hot Rods again! |

I thought the support race later in the day was mental! cars every where.
And how good is Andy Steward in the wet? The irish challange seems to fizz away this year. |

That's it then - three WC's back to back. He now matches Colin White. Will he make it four?
Well done Carl. |
