Well we discovered St saturin about 8 years ago and it is now an absolute must for the friday.
It is very easy to get to but I would say get there early as the traffic jam get worse each year. If you are in an interesting car, old, different or modern supercar you get to part in the school area, the first car park will be mostly full of featured mark, corvette this year, the curved car park is for cars used in the drivers parade. The remainder of interesting cars are sent to the higher car parks and often concregate in groups. In front of the school are usually some vintage french cars that do tours of the village and in the school itself will be a selection of important models, which i am sure this year will include mostly the actual ex le mans corvettes. One of the halls is convertedinto a cinema showing various films associated with both Le mans and the featured cars. The school puts on music and food and overall it is a brilliant event. You can easily spend 3 or 4 hours there and have seen some of the most amazing sights over the years. |

Thanks for all that, Simon!
Sounds like an excellent way to spend the Friday morning. And, very convenient, since our accommodation is just a stone's throw from the venue. Appreciate your advice regarding traffic, we'll make sure we get there early. Better give my old banger a wash and spruce before we go, just in case they decide it's a 'classic' and insist it goes on display! |

Some times very strange things get in, a convoy of reliant robins, a hearst and even a mobile toilet.
It all adds to fun, but I do wish they would restrict some of the more mundane modern cars |

Make sure to take some photos of those beautiful classic corvettes and cars for us less fortunate ones!

Attended two years ago and really enjoyed it, there's a nice relaxed friendly atmosphere and has been mentioned, plenty of unusual sights !
The convoy down to the driver's parade at the end of the day is fun too ! |

The year that we visited the convoy consisted of various classic Ferraris. We met them while parking up for the drivers parade on the other side of the river and it was quite a sight. The Gendarmerie outriders escorting them through the streets to the Place des Jacobins.
We always enjoy seeing the drivers arriving for the parade on various scooters, looking over dressed with their race spec crash helmets, complete with various tubes and fittings. Always a good time for a pre race chat and photo while they are in a relaxed mood ! We met Emmo a few years ago, along with Mario A and have a couple of great pics taken with Nishy, Herbert, Gavin etc. It kind of makes the whole weekend a bit more personal, if you know what I mean ! |

The convoy starts at the show, it involves all of the cars invited to participate in the drivers parade.
As you enter the school cars are allowed into the show area's and those that are due to take part in the parade have to register they are then parked in the access road that arc's around to the right, the first car park, (school playground) is then mostly for the featured mark cars (Corvette this year) and the other interesting cars are sent to the other hard parking area's(tennis courts etc). Later on friday afternoon all the cars that are taking part in the parade leave in an escourted convey back into the town for the drivers parade. However until they leave you can have a close inspection of them and usually chat to the owners who are often to be found cleaning and polishing their pride and joy ready for it's big day. The parade cars usually arrive at st saturin later in the morning or early afternoon, however we usually arrive early friday and do the show in the morning have a spot of lunch there and then head back to the circuit for the pit visit. |

What exactly is the arrangement for those attending in an unremarkable modern car? Park miles away?

However last year they did get full at some times and then you were just left on your own to find somewhere a little further into the village. but still not far to walk back. |

Taking a red E Type along, I should think you must get a good reception from the locals!
