But why is there this "fake" character in a pre-war helmet and goggles? If they're trying to evoke that period of LM, the character would certainly have been clean-shaven and would probably have been wearing a suit and tie!

Perhaps it's a joint LM24 Heures and Le Mans Classic poster....!

OK, it's a bit late with over 5 months gone, but it's time to give this thread it's annual resurrection........

Not sure if anyone has got round to flicking through the 2012 annual yet, but in an interview with Pierre Fillon he mentions a few interesting changes regarding the circuit.
The bad news is not really unexpected. The ACO will be taking a look at the Porsche Curves in a bid to make them safer, the same with the exit of 'Corvette Corner'. Around that area is also going to be the new 1.4km kart track. Around that will be a driving simulation centre building, a boutique and a restaurant - complete with a terrace which will give you views of both the kart track and the race circuit. He also says they are going to build a pyramid-shaped tower besides the grandstands facing the pits. This will display the race positions like at Indianapolis and apparently some other information. I'm not sure exactly where that would be placed to be honest. Combined these changes will certainly change the look of the place over the next couple of years. |

And lets not forget that Le Mans 24hours is very likely to make a profit so they are able to do these kind of investments. |

Not like F1 were circuits have to pay mr. Scrooge McDuck 23 million $ (amount I read about Turkey GP in the weekend of 22+23 June next year) to be granted the honour to hold a GP where CVC gets all the money, and the circuit only the income for tickets and hotdogs! |

The pyramid would be prime advertising estate as well. Rolex may want to expand from the clock.
(Or Audi just to make sure their name is everywhere) |

Ah, but who says the ACO aren't actually building something more commonly seen in Giza?

We'd be lucky if they could scrape out another two pits to add to the 'row of woe', let alone another 19!
I want to see more cars of course but I don't think expansion is that badly needed right now. We're not seeing entries left on the reserve list where you're left in uproar. We're not even seeing that much of a reserve list. |

Without building in parc ferme there isn't even room for two more pits. You'd have to demolish race control to get 19 in.

I love a bit of black and gold I'm not going to lie. Hopefully they'll do all the posters and stuff like that.
And at least there won't be any issues when the tickets turn black in the sun. |

For the ACO, I think it is classy - nice and understated.
