Dallara chassis and Honda engines took a revenge, in which is confirmed to be a razor-edge contest from both points of view.
I think it's goin' to be a very uncertain and exciting season. Unfortunately all the hopes related to a Chevy improvement sadly fell. I'm particularly disappointed for Sam Hornish, who doesnt deserve such a destiny. Probably thisill accelerate his switch to Nascar Last edited by climb; 24 Mar 2003 at 11:11. |

I would be very suprised if Chevy didn't come out with a new engine for Indy.
I felt so so sorry for Sarah. She was doing so well, even with a Chevy engine, then it all fell apart for her. It's still too early for championship predictions I think. Kannan looks stong right now, 2 Poles, 1 Win and a 4th place (I think?). It's certianly a good start for him. |

I hope you're right, Down FOrce, With a more performing Chevy engine it would be much better.
As for kanaan, I agree with you; he's talented and supporte by a major team; his car package is dgood as well. His principal rival will be the Penskies, i suppose, but also Giaffone's consistency cannot be ignored. |

I think the championship top 5 will include Kanaan, both Penskes, Dixon and Giaffone. Sam will be nowhere, I think I predicted soem time ago that he wouldn't even finsih top 5 in the series this year. And, sadly, I may well be right. Pretty strange to cite a double champion as an 'underdog' but he is.

You're right, Boots
And it's not a good perspective for IRL, since none of the top 5 you mention is from US. Actually I think that, in spite of the really fair spirit of US fans, this could alienate an important share of them, as it happens in CART. One of the most important factors of Stck car dominance, infact, is due to being 100% yankee. Let's hope that Chevy catches up the japanese, at lkeast in the second part of the season. |
