waiting (patiently) for the procar website to give us the news
no idea about surprise entries, but I could just make something up (seems to work well on several other threads ) |

In the PROCAR world, an entry isnt an entry without a cheque. So if tey have 65 cars with cheques of cleared funds, yahoo to PROCAR< the event will be a financial performer....

Culling doesn't have to happen just for oversubscription - it could aso be if they believe a driver has nowhere near the qualifications...

OK then - Sam Newman - knock him back and a few teams can save about a million dollars in repairs!

ohh that's almost good enough for my new signature...maybe not, I don't want to be included in the litigation
Sam Newman: an excellent driver, much underrated, very handsome chap too (had some work done) |

71 entries at the close on Wednesday midnight. We also have been working with the FIA and CAMS to extend the grid density with appropriate pit management to 65 cars from the current 55 cars. You see the FIA will allow a track density of 83 cars but that won,t happen until 2004 when the "NEW BATHURST PITS" constructed to specially accomodate 83 cars is built. Go to www.bathurst24hr.com and enter the forum thread based competiton for the person who guesses the 10 different marques in the 17 outright entries. Not to be confused with the cars in Group2 [another 11] that make up a total of 28 GT cars in the race. |

Better still drop me a line at PROCAR ,415 CREEK ROAD,MOUNT GRAVATT, Q4125 and given that you are in Sydney I will send you 2 free tickets to attend the event live.
We have Ferris Wheel being erected on the mountain and it will be lit up at night. Fireworks at the halfway point[2am] ,Rock concerts and best of all the crowd are much more "user friendly" and you can access all the drivers in the pits including the 3 ex formula 1 drivers who will be racing [and yes none of them are australian.] It,s a fantastic sight at night from the top of the mountain, watching car lights streaming down con rod straight, with the strobe light on the roof of the Mosler distinguishing it from the rest.[Mr. Mosler himself is coming to the race this year]. Imagine the best supercars and super teams in the world. Never mind HOLDEN vs. FORD that,s been going on for 30 years now and HOLDEN are getting a little bored having kicked FORD,s Ass for 90% of that time. I know I was there as Dick Johnson,s sponsor from 1981 to 1991 trying to plug the gaps with a miniscule budget and put up some sort of effort to counter the Generals huge support and commitment to australian Touring Car Racing. What excites HOLDEN is beating the EUROPEANS,and last year they "whipped their butts." This year me thinks they are coming back from EUROPE loaded for loaded for "LION HUNTING" ,especially PORSCHE. |

Thankyou for your king gesture. Having 2 kids, 1 teen and one almost teen, going to the other event is not appealing what so ever, due to previous years. People on saturday night at my local, behave better and with more control than the morans that attend that event. WOW! 3 ex f1 drivers , I knew one was confirmed, and heard rumours of 2nd, but three, truley world class.

Ross Palmer will done. It is good that someone in the sport has had the balls to make a dream become reality.
It is funny to think that this time last year some people on this web site where sadly against this whole event. I hope that people realise that the great race is back! Bring on the bigest battle to ever hit the mountain! |
