How often do you marshal?

Just wondering how many days a year does everyone typically marshal

Funny enough just counted how many I have volunteered for this year which so far stands at 47, I expect that will get into the fifties by the time the season`s over though.

50 by this years calendar ticks,
16 by last years (piggin' ex-job)
64 in 2002
58 in 2001
66 in 2000...

Not that it matters, or I'm keeping count or anything...

I have volunteered for 32 days this season. Not bad as I spectate at all the BTCC rounds and I have left a couple free for non motorsport things. It will be the most I have done, in my short marshalling career, and I can't wait to get started.

Mid thirties, usually, but I have other hobbies as well which stop me doing more. And a wife...

Most weekends between March and November, although we do try to give ourselves one weekend off in four, which is not always possible!

imull has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
I did 28 events last year. 1 race 27 rally. All bar 2 were during term time when I am at uni.

I think they totalled 20days and 7 nights out on road rallies.

This year I already have in the diary:

37 days and 9 nights (few dates unknown) of which 5 weekends i will be out for one day and one night and 2 weekends i will be out for 2 nights and the adjoing day or vice versa

A the moment I have this weekend off for exam revision then the next weekend off is 21/3, 18/4, 12/6

After that i finish uni so the rallies pencilled in after that are up in teh air for the moment. Methinks i need to take up knitting

I've got about 45 days ticked off this year, unless you are my wife reading this, and then my dear I've only volunteered for 3

Average seems to be between 30 & 40 for me, Rallies & Races, however trying to cut back, this petrol stuff is damned expensive. But this number of days thing is something that may put people off. Be careful not to discourage people who can only put in a few days, remember we do what we can, its impossible to do more.

Good point - that's why I made the comment about not having to work for a living.

On average I do about 50 to 55 days a year, but for about 6 of those I turn up around 10:30 due to work committments.

As stated earlier in the thread it is not just a matter of days. Several of our crew work shifts so just because they do less days than me it doesn't mean they are less dedicated. In fact they are probably more so.
