Dash reads incorrectly after startup

Hi all

My problem is that starter draws current so much from my tiny little battery that dash etc shuts momentarly down. Powers back fast but dash misses data after that. Does not do it every time but more often than operates without hickup. At this point going bigger battery is not an option. Has anyone had same problem and how did you cure it?

(DTA S60 & AIM MXL combo in use if it matters anything?)

I doubt it was designed like as that would be a major design flaw. My guess is that inside the dash is a small lithium / rechargeable battery that has died. This is a memory backup battery that prevents the dash from losing its setup when power cycled.

Either return the dash if it is under warranty or carefully take it apart and look for the failed battery. Maplins sell most of these type of battery so provided you have a steady hand and a soldering iron, you should be able to sort it yourself.
