Marco Andretti to Champ Car (Newman/Haas/Lanigan) ?

Lame translation from online translator

According to indiscretions collections from Italiaracing, Mark Andretti the Indycar and the team of family, Andretti/Green lascerĂ* to fine season, in order to move in the Champ Car in the square of Paul Newman and Carl Haas, friends from always of Mario and Michael Andretti. The grandfather and the Pope of Mark in fact have over a long time span run for the Newman/Haas and the Champ Car is the natural passage for the Andretti young person (20 years) in sight of a probable future disembarkation in Europe.

Single-seater powerful, street and city circuits, no oval, by now thought dangerous and too much useless for an eventual future in F.1 from the father Michael, this guarantees the Champ Car. Pope Michael also past Sunday has suffered the pains from hell in seeing the son to graze itself in continuation with Tony Kanaan in the last turns of the 500 Miles of Michigan. Two years in Indycar can be enough, Mark after good a 2006 this season have not grown, protagonist of many incidents and performances under the waits. But on good the street and city tracings it has always harvest turns out to you. In Champ Car Graham Rahal will go to replace Sebastien Bourdais placing side by side.

Well, I hope it's an American, whoever gets the N/H/L ride, for the sake of the series. Marco Andretti would be ideal. If Scott Speed were to then get a drive with Forsythe or Minardi, 2008 would become a very exciting prospect.

that would be great if marco got the nhl drive - andretti & rahal as team-mates in 08, i like that .... he could always go back to andretti/green for a one off indy 500 drive...

would be good if speed got a drive aswell - champcar needs a couple of fast, young americans in the series...

Bluewolf has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
I wish Speed would get the ride and then see all the drivers from the European ladder series running at the front -- Wilson -- Speed -- Doornbos -- Jani -- so as to confirm my theory that the European ladder series produces the best racers.

Scott Speed is going to NASCAR via Red Bull. It would be interesting to see how the above drivers measure up against each other but we are very unlikely to see it.

Unfortunately that's OW's problem - NASCAR is so much more appealing, even for drivers who targeted OW racing all along. The racing isn't as challenging or varied, but it means more money, more fame, more long-term certaintly.

More American drivers are needed, and Marco is a big name who's shown some potential. I'd take Marco over his American team-mate, that's for sure.

It would be good if Marco came over as well as Scott Speed.

But i cant help to think how great it would have been to have Dinger back in the series with Rahal and then Marco and Speed turning up.

I said imagine....

Undoubtedly, getting a couple of decent US drivers would be highly beneficial.

I wonder, though, whether it might pay for ChampCar/IRL to get on the ground at NASCAR events? I don't mean in any official deal with NASCAR (I am assuming NASCAR won't be interested in that), but rather just in the areas when the NASCAR races run.

PR stuff on the ground, if spread widely enough for long enough...who knows, they may be able to persuade a few to tune in now and then.

Then again, perhaps they already do this? I have never gone to a NASCAR event, thus cannot comment.
