Qualifying at the Beach
Congratulations to Jourdain! But also to Tags, who stood on pole until two minutes left! He'll start third, behind Tracy who had already locked up P2. Amazing effort there, considering that his engineer has left him since Mexico in order to join Conquest and Haberfeld.
Interesting that the fastest two drivers on Saturday were from one-car teams. Tommy came up with another Kenallism... While talking about Bourdais, "I can't believe how unpatriotic you guys are, calling him a Frenchman! I call him a Freedom Driver!" Although everything could change come tomorrow, as rain is forecast on raceday for the first time in the history of the GP... |

I can't beleive it! My VCR doesn't work. So I go to CART.com and Jourdain is on pole. Great for him, he has been getting progressively quicker throughout the year. Good job by Tag to. Hunter-Reay outqualifies Vasser on a course that Jimmy knows very well. Rain tomorrow, lets hope Bridgestone gives these guys some good rubber cause these monsters will be Hell to Handle in the wet.

Good, Michel, good. He is becoming a mature driver, at last.
I will root for Bourdais, hoping that La Marseillaise will be played, that le drapeau tricoleur flies high, and that Bourdais dedicates his win to the idiotic Tommy (well, what else could we expect - Speed Channel is owned by Fox...). Allez Sebas! Last edited by Muzza; 13 Apr 2003 at 01:02. |

I half root for Bourdais, half don't. I would like the nay-sayers to see what he's made of, but on the other hand if he kicks too much @ss then CART will look bad.
First lap: Look for Tracy to go by Jourdain, Bourdais try Junky. |

Come on Jourdain!
Finally that first win might be around the corner. |

It'd be great to see Jordain have a win but i think Tracey starting on P2 has to be favourite.

I'm pretty certain the TK comment was a joke, making fun of the anti-French renaming of things like french fries and french toast. I thought it was pretty funny.

I guess Tags is the star of the session, considering that his team is at an obvious disadvantage to the might of Rahal. I'm rooting for Bourdais though, and a nice gag by TK, sounds like he's got more of a sense of humour than most racing commentators (such as James Allen!)

I didn't understand the joke, but I'll be rooting for Sebastien for sure, hoping that he will get his first Champ Car victory.
