Keep them coming Dov! Because everything about the roundy-roundy's is all true. Yet no-one over there sees it... yet!
ChampCar will continue to grow and thrive for many years to come! |

It's moving in the right direction certainly.
I'd be happier when the majority of the field is funded by genuine commercial sponsorship though. |

"While Champ Car's new ownership stopped paying to prop up teams and promote races, George continues to shell out millions to keep the series going."
Interesting indeed. |

Champ Cars new ownership did pay to prop up teams, from what I've heard - bear in mind three of them have teams!
That article is quite selective on its facts. But it's great CC is still here. |

Awesome read! Thanks for the link!
The only thing I take with a grain of salt is the way it was suggested that, if Rahal and Fernandez bailed on the 11th hour, it would've destroyed CC. Although perhaps it's true, it makes it sound as if TG was behind everything. Adrian was not out to kill CC, he bowed out very graciously. But other than that, IMO the article was pretty much spot-on with what we already know. Everything is contingient upon what the Japanese manufacturers choose to do in the future. IMO, Japan decides if there will be one American open-wheel series, or two. Funny how the tables have turned. |

I found it interesting how he says that KK is "steering the ship."
He also says "There's a television deal in the pipeline and title sponsors are sniffing around." Hope he's right regarding the real possibility of a title sponsor. Where IS the TV announcement anyway? Weren't we suppose to hear it by now? As Kicking-Back says, we all know that the series WAS propped up this year. *Technically* they altered the scheme from Pookfare to putting money behind drivers they wanted in the series for the teams to pick up. I also have to agree with Macdaddy about the two defector teams. He also twists the facts on the engines. CC wouldn't have been toast if TG or Ganassi had gotten Cosworth, it just would have complicated matters. It's interesting to hear another source saying both of these parties did want Cosworth. Generally I think we're all happy to see a PRO CC article, even if it is a little biased. We know the jist of it is true. Last edited by Snrub; 19 Nov 2004 at 00:45. |
