The old Zytek has always been fast at LeMans, just keeps going and going

Nissan saying a road car tire on the track, not from one of the race cars.... Some drunk a$$hole threw a tire into the track???????????????

Could the Nissan be like a GT Porsche? Have a front on crash and bam, possible damage to the gearbox/engine. Seems that way after the issues the 22? has had, hit the debris and it got stuck in 4th.

I missed that, but it seems possible. Anyone who has been to Le Mans could believe that, unfortunately.

oh well, the driver doesn't even know what he hit. I guess the world will never know...

At least it looks like it can be fixed but with a long time in the garage, the Nissan crew working hard on all three cars and still over 14 hours to go

that sounds like an urban myth. It was out on the Mulsanne and apparently its very hard for spectators to even get near there, let alone throw something on track.

If Nissan don't know what they hit then it wasn't an animal. There would be quite a bit of evidence of that. But a road car tyre? What the hell.

Exactly my thought, if it was an animal they wouldn't even question it. If you hit an animal of any size there is usually a lot of "evidence".... especially at 200 mph

Wow Nissan have been unlucky with tyres and the lack of them. Obviously that is one big disadvantage of a FWD car if you lose one of the front wheels.
