Mine came two days after ordering!
Ironed it on and melted my BMMC Observers badge. That's why women should do the ironing!!! |

If you have ironed it on then be careful when you wash your overals as it may come off in the washing machine!

I managed to attach mine with good old fashioned needle and thread. It took forever sewing round the word motorsport, and there was minor blood loss, but they're not going anywhere

Chuffed to get mine, one on my overalls, one of my proban wind cheater next to Vicvky butler-henderson's signature and a spare one for when I buy a new set of probans. Bit of a sod to sew on though, did mine round the inside of the badge but looks ok.

The backs are supposed to be covered in a hot melt glue. But there's nothing that comes with them that says how hot hot is.

Got mine too....
My missus said she will sew it on, as usual, so I'll be proudly displaying my 10/10ths affiliation sometime in the 2009/2010 season Last edited by goforit500; 20 Dec 2004 at 16:48. Reason: Typo |

Ordered mine today to replace my cheap iron-on efforts, so hopefully if the christmas carrier pidgeon arrives they'll be in place for the rally at Croft on the 28th.

Place the ten-tenths patch in the desired location on your chosen item of aparrel. Cover with a damp tea-towel and then press on with a hot iron for around 15 seconds

I asked supplier Altservices for recommended method of application
heres their reply -- > Message date : Dec 17 2004, 10:54 AM > From : "Alternative Sporting Services" > To : andrew@browfoot.*********.co.uk > Subject : Re: 10-tenths badges Andrew Thank you for your e mail. We don't provide any instructions but we have put something together for you. (see below) We will make this available online soon. Items you need… 1. A fairly long, fairly strong needle-- not what is called a "quilting" needle-- just one that will not break under the weight of the clothing and patch 2. Some thread that either matches the patch or a generic color such as black, navy blue, or white 3. Some pins to attach the patch to the clothing so it will not move while you are sewing it **These items are easy to find at a craft store or maybe in a sewing kit you might have around the house You will need to mark where you want the patch, I recommend using a ruler and measuring a few times and marking it with a pen or washable marker, then pin the patch in place. Once you are sure this is where you want the patch beginning sewing it on. There a two easy ways in which you can sew the patch on: 1. A straight stitch-- you start on the back of the clothing and go through the clothing and patch the the front (make sure you put a secure knot in the end of the thread so it holds), about a 1/4 of an inch from where you came out push the needle and thread back through to the back. Repeat for whole patch perimeter and tie off the thread in the back after the last stitch (so it will not show make sure you put the knot on the back side-- inside the clothing). 2. A wrap around type stitch -- start the same way that you would to do a straight stitch, but once you come through the edge of the patch the first time, then push the needle through at a slight angle just above the patch (so you only go through the clothing) this will make an overcast around the edges of the patch. Continue for the whole patch and tie off the end on the inside, same as above. 10 Tenths Motorsport patches feature an iron-on backing. You don’t need to use this feature to partially affix the patch, although if you do choose to iron, you will still also need to do some stitchwork. Ironing: DO NOT PLACE THE IRON DIRECTLY ON THE TOP FACE OF THE PATCH. THIS MAY DAMAGE THE PATCH AND YOUR IRON. With the patch held in place with pins, either… Iron the clothing from the back. When asked what setting do you recommend for the iron ? It shouldn't be that critical. The patches should withstand a fair amount without any damage. A medium iron setting should be fine. You only want to melt the glue a little. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- some sites selling iron-on patches recommend using an iron set to cotton and placing a teflon sheet on the face of the badge but warn against using a heat setting that would damage the garment underneath I think i`ll delegate this operation to `er indoors and it may get done sometime (here`s hoping) Andrew Last edited by andymfell; 20 Dec 2004 at 23:18. Mine arrived next day. I was a bit disapointed at not being allowed to pay for them in Dollars as there was a saving of £6 over Streling
I have now realised I havent got anything to put them on. Last edited by Tim Falce; 22 Dec 2004 at 13:03. |

falcemob, there is no actual saving. The US Dollar price just excludes VAT and is the default setting if you selected US/Canada or S. America.
You would have had to pay 17.5% VAT anyway if the delivery address was within UK/EC. Sales are very good for these patches. We may have to order in a new batch early in the New Year! ;-) |

24 hours from order to delivery, the week before Christmas. Can't get any better than that.
Good quality patches too. |
