Want one Seriously, Jag has always been about grace, space and pace. They had that right until they failed to keep ahead with design (S-Type anyone?) and tried to be like BMW (X-Type anyone?). Now they are back on track and have new owners a sportscar programme would do wonders to turn their image around. |

Fine, pure grunt. I get it. However that isn't what Jaguar is about, and never was. It should still do the grunt, but combine it with finese and a bit of decent workmanship. Just grunt, would be too simple for Jaguar.

Unless I heard wrong, (I was reading Mario Andretti's thoughts on the unified IndyCar Series) one team is thinking of racing the Jaguar XK (likely XKR) in the SCCA Speed World Challenge GT class. I just heard this on the Speed Report on tv. The SCCA needs to balance the performance of the cars before the first race like the SRO does with the FIA GT3 Championship.

At last they have the road car range, they've had a taste with the Apex GT3 XKR-R, and the 20th Anniversary of the '88 Le Mans win, plus the publicity Aston Martin recieves from the DBR9 and Lola P1. You have to admit, a Jaguar Le Mans program is exactly what they need. |

I hope Jag comes back to racing, in a big way. We all would love to see that. Both in GT and LMP racing. Customer service and quality are very very imporant in todays auto market. If some company is just marginal on quality and customer service, the consumer will go buy an other brand. As far as there normal street cars go, from 30 feet they are just darn drop dead gorgous cars. Get up close, heck my wife wanted a Jag real bad, but she saw paint flaws on three just sitting in the dealers lot. Not that We were going to get her one, she just really loves driving the 3500 pick up truck, just cant park that beast any place. |

Hmm, I'm not sure if Tata are willing to put a lot of money into a Jaguar racing programme at the moment. From what I read, Tata's main interest was the Land Rover brand and not the cat and they considered reselling Jaguar to another investor.
