I wonder was that when Castroneves(i think) ran over some debris just as he passed the scene of the accident? They did a slow-mo of it, and you could clearly see a large piece of bodywork fly some distance into the infield crowd.

the piece was a wing, luckily it was light and flat enough to sorta sail into the crowd instead of shooting in and light enough that when it hit someone it didn't cause actual injury. More people got hurt by trying to avoid it than those who actually got hit by it.

There is some kind of beautiful irony in that (and that, I believe, is actually using the word "irony" correctly).

Don't they say the best thing you can do in those situations is stand still, for if you run trying to avoid the object you increase your chances of being hit by it?
