Alonso to Ferrari in 2005? You can collectively roll your eyes.
http://www.gazzetta.it/primi_piani/m...72640089.shtml
Yup, this is the latest rumour that Gazzetta has decided to spread. According to the spanish paper "Marca" - the deal is already done. But Renault, Ferrari, and Alonso's manager have all vehemently denied it. |

Why are they talking 2005 when we still have 2004 ahead of us? |

Wishfull thinking by the idiot italian rags.If they are right it's only because it's an obvious possibility for the future...
Much like the horrific british press actually-anything that sounds interesting is printed/put on a website. Don't worry if it's true or not.... |

Well, to be fair, Gazzetta picked up on the Spanish paper's story, so its really the idiot Spanish rags that are to blame in this case.

There was a report recently that Alonso's manager who also manages Mark Webber quashed the idea of Webber replacing JPM at William this may mean that he wants Webber at Renault to take Alonso place. He must have penciled Alonso into either Ferrari or McLaren.

As an italian I can confirm that Gazzetta lives on rumours much more than on confirmed news, however there would be nothing bad if Ferrari were interested at Alonso for 2005.
It would mean that MS would not stay until 2006, and Alonso would be a very good replacement wouldn'it. Let's consider that, despite all, Briatore never said no to Ferrari. |

Yes..i think that if Alonso showed the quality he had thus far...it will be great if he gets the Ferrari seat.
Just imagine the classical Ferrari vs Mclaren fight..with Alonso vs Kimi. The rumor seems to be picking up speed. F1-live reported it adding that Alonso isn't happy with Renault's performance and that he suspects that he is given inferior equipment to Trulli. And there are a few occasions which Alonso had came out saying how Renault isn't flexible in strategy and all.. So it does shape up to Flavio's operation habits huh? When you plan to ditch a driver...give him the bad parts to make him look bad..hence reducing his market value...ie see Wurz. But it'd be strange cos i thought Flavio quite like Alonso...but is it because of Flavio's new boy, the new test driver? |

Flavio has no intersst in bearing Alonso shares down!
On the contrary, the faster he is, the higher will be the price to pay to get him before his contract expires... |
