Team Gonads has decided after this weekends tragic acccident involving its lead driver Alex Zinardi to withdraw from the remainder of the fantasy champ car league.

Alex was one of the great champ car drivers and all round nice guy. So in respect for Alex this round will be our last.

We at team Gonads are hoping for a quick recovery and a return to life as normal (as it can get) for Alex.

JADS Racing Press Release - SADJADS

So our no.1 driver Kenny won the race. We don't care.
So our no.2 driver Dario retired. We don't care.
Our no.3 driver Alex will never drive again, after suffering a horrendous accident in what had been his best race of the year.

JADS Racing sends its thoughts and prayers to Alex and his family and friends, and also to 'the other' Alex, and we wish both Alexes as fast and as full a recovery as possible. We considered pulling out of the championship too, and we respect Team Gonads decision to do just that. But we feel that is not the right decision for us. Alex Z has always been a fighter, and we will fight on as a two car team, devoting any success we may have to him.

Note to series officials: We do not wish to replace Alex in the team, even if a replacement is found for the #66 car before the end of the season.

TEAM MRS. FIELDS PIES PENSKE BABE PRESS RELEASE

All of us at TMSPPB are shocked and saddened by the terrible events of this week and especially by the terrible accident suffered by Alessandro Zanardi and Alexandre Tagliani. Our prayers are with both pilots and their families and friends, and as soon as a fund is established our money will be too.

We are hopeful that an urgent call has been sent out to Clay Reggazoni and Jason Watts to stand by, as their help and support will be valuable to Alessandro in the future when he is well enough to see visitors ... although nothing can compensate him for what he has lost, we know he will fight on.

Let this be a reminder that no matter where we come from or where we live, we are all racers and a tragedy like this unites us all.

Alex will not be replaced

After our no. 1 driver Alex Zanardi's appalling accident in last weekend's American Memorial, we have decided not to replace him with any other driver for the remainder of the season. It's not the right decision for us either to withdraw from the championship though. We will therefore continue the season with our remaining two drivers on board, Kenny Brack and Max Papis.
