There aren't four European rounds of the WEC. There is Spa, Silverstone, and then the double points round at Le Mans. Ok, if ELMS teams want in at Spa and Silverstone, they'll probably get in. Le Mans is a bit of a different story. Even last year some LMS teams of quality in the LMP2 class were put on the reserve list (Boutsen comes to mind) and next year will be even worse with an increase in WEC grid sizes and with less openings in general with the 56th garage.

Not 100% convinced by the timing of the Zolder round - is it good or bad to have that much proximity to Spa WEC?

Three doses of big league sports car racing in 2012?! I can't bloody wait, GT1/GT3 at Silverstone, LMS at Donington and WEC at Silverstone. 2012 is going to be a most excellent year of spectating for myself.

I believe Pegasus hoped to run a Courage LC75-HPD LMP2 in the LMS in 2011, but the funding didn't arrive for that package to run.

Anyway, the LMS name is no more. European Le Mans Series is the new name apparently. Let's hope the 2012 version of the ELMS turns out better than the 2001 version.

I like the choice of Zolder but they also forgot Nurburgring 24 is that weekend.

i don't know how much good can be brno for these kind of races (i admit that i've never loved that track, so this can influence my opinion). The other tracks are good (even if donington hasn't anymore the dunlop bridge

... ) but the decision of LMS CEO to don't let WEC take parts in their events, i don't know how much will be good for this championship....

So how many potential P2s / FLM cars will there be next year? Has anyone put a list of potential / confirmed runners together ? I think this could be a good series, but only if there are a good number of prototypes. I'd rather not see 80% of the field as GT cars, as there are plenty of other series where i can see those, its the prototypes that will ensure the series success IMHO.

This is the ELMS thread... your list has many cars that won't be in the ELMS (like all the LMP1 entries), not to mention self-promotion of your website is against forum rules.

The link is to that website's WEC silly season page. There is a tab at the top of the page for the Le Mans Series silly season page.

You are correct, self-promotion (of one's own website) is against forum rules. Since LeMans.pt is a regular forum contributor and a genuine enthusiast who has not (as far as I'm aware) attempted to promote his website before, I shall let it go on this occasion, although I'm happy to backtrack on that decision if members feel strongly about it.
