Twenty cars on the grid....

That is nothing more then laugable! Belgium is a country were racing cars is very popular and yet the organizers achieve to make such a mess of this race that hardly anyone is interested in participating.

To be hounest,I don't take them serious anymore. For us,it'll be about meeting some good friends, having a nice weekend at the infield campsite and enjoying a stiff drink. Maybe the five year old boy of my good mate'll be impressed by the 'race'....

Everything was ruined years ago by the big money spenders, as they wouldn't allow the smaller teams in. Good drivers in small cars were faster than rich bratts in big cars.
Now they pay for that mistake.

Thanks goodness I get my racing in the UK.

Hi all,
Well what a week that was!
Here is a quick rundown of events for those who are interested.
After q1 we thought the car was to quiet running standard exhausts (101db UK spec) a quick rummage about to find some 3inch pipe a few flashes with the welder and .....loud ....very loud was the result . 125 +db? For those who were there I hoped you liked it.
Q5, left it late but got the pole in the last few minutes .
The race, for the first 15 mins was ok then the temperature started going up, a pit stop needed to find the radiator was cold and the engine overheating.
The faulty part was the thermostat! With that changed we went out again for 20 mins only for the temperature to climb again, but the damage had already been done the first time causing a head gasket to fail. Engine change it is then this is a 6 hour job in the workshop but we did it in 3hours!
Back in the race again, ok for an hour then we lost oil pressure another pit stop needed this time just a sort one to fix an oil leek.
Back in the race again only to get a puncture so yet another pit stop needed!
Into the early hours now so it’s make or break time, both our fast drivers we doing double stints to try and get us back up the timing screen. After lots of fasted laps the driver reported that the car was not driving in a straight line.
Into the pits again and this was to be for the final time as the chassis was falling apart!!! The chassis was only just over a year old, should this happen I don’t think so! More investigation work needed but this will be for another day.
So that was it I chatted to lots of people (any one on here?) bring on Silverstone 24h and Zolder24 2011 you bet ya.
