I expected more interesting news, after a month from last series news, two and a half months are remaining to the abu dhabi round and all is floating in the air, SRO's don't seem to learn about errors.

What the International GT Open should to is to expand the grid to 50-60 cars, then split it with separate GT2 and GT3 races.

they should do as SuperGT does... 2 separate starts on the same race with two safety cars, so they could have 2 races on the same race!!

The GT one world and BES are all GT3 cars so there is no need for two safety cars. This would be useful in WEC, ALMS and the ELMS. As for the International GT Open there are two classes but the races are sprints and the time it takes to get all the cars organized with two safety cars would cut into time of race. |

WoW !!
In addition: "which will be run by his own Sebastien Loeb Racing team". So seems minimum there will be two Mclaren Teams, Hexis and Sebastien Loeb Racing team. Last edited by urdragon; 6 Dec 2012 at 15:51. |

Seems that Hexis will move to ELMS and then wec gtE.
At least now we have one team, none interested yet in the championship? |

I'm just wondering if Loeb's team is in fact one of the existing teams, just renamed?

Hexis are the favoured of the current McLaren teams and will be to McLaren what Manthey is to Porsche (next season). Look for something more official in the coming months.... |

Yes, that's right about the development, maybe the 12C GTE could be ready.
I meant any source Hexis doing ELMS, by now winning the GT3 class at ELMS does not grant WEC GTE places, so they don't necessary win anything from doing ELMS. |

Ratel said hexis was doing Sprints also, iirc, their costs have reduced so i would not discard both SRO champs before jumping to WEC. BES & Sprints are both even Smaller than 2011(2 & 1 round less ), that confirms a multi champ season is easier, and Hexis in 2011 did GT1 + 1 BES round, so budgets must be similar to that in 2011.

Hexis comes with all GT World Series, which includes GT Sprints and Blancpain Endurances. About others - there was some issues, that they want to start in ELMS as a GTC - but noone agrees with that.
This year, Loeb raced at Paul Ricard with Von Ryan Racing help - but now it seems, that GT Sprint's team is his own, not existing one. Last edited by Tzyghan; 7 Dec 2012 at 13:09. |

true is that in 2012 world GT af corse line-up was of only 1 platinum driver, but is also true that the 458 GT3 has been persecuted by the bop all season long. Is hard to make good results when your car is one of the heaviest and poor powerfull at the same time. Also in BES the bop gave almost 1300kg of min. weight but at least the car could use 2x55.5 restrictors! even if in my opinion the main problem was the mandatory min. rideheight (9cm on front and 12 on rear) that excluded the car to be competitive in pro class, but still good for pro-am.
Also last year af corse wasn't intersted in world gt1, but somehow ratel persuaded them to join. |

dubai
I dont' see a Dubai 24 hour thread so I figured I'd ask it on here due to relevancy to it being a GT3 race..however not entirely. Because am I correct that I'm seeing a Corvette C6 and a Porsche 911 GT3 RSR (both GTE cars) on the entry list?

For the Dubai 24 hours you can race GTE cars against the GT3 cars. The C6 is actually an ex GT1 car converted to GTE level so that it could race in the top class of International GT Open. There will also be some Ferrari 458 GTE cars in the race as well
Also to add that Hexis wont race in the GT Sprint series, they will race in French GT instead due to financial restrictions. |
