why would they dump or a former INdy 500 champ leave, it isn't like he's got a porper f1 drive or something?
the only news I found is Buddy Building a MegaHaouse in Vail, Colorado next to a Ski resort

That's a shame.

Don't think you've seen the last of Buddy though, he's still one of the most talented racers in the world and with a top team he'd be ace...

now there's a thought! Get Buddy in Giaffone's car while he recovers from his accident! Perfect.

I smell the headlines: Buddy Lazier driving for Dale Coyne.

Buddy Lazier doesn't really feature anymore though does he? He's in his mid-30s now and if I were him, I'd probably call it a day while I still could. He has some nice memories to look back on.

There was an article in the Indianapolis Star this morning just saying that Memo Gidley would replace him.

It's a shame to see Buddy go...can't think why he would just leave, or Helmelgarn dropping him, at this point in the season..they've been together since 1996 as well.

Oh well, let's hope Hemelgarn get a good solid driver to replace him. Be great to see Buddy in the 21 Mo Nunn car too.

Buddy is my favorite driver , so i hope that if this is true he pops up somewhere else.

his courage after his shunt back in 96 was very inspirational , only a month or so after breaking his back he came out and won the Indy 500.

simply awesome and the guy is a very good driver.

I wish him well in whatever he does but i do hope he lands a drive somewhere.

rpm.espn.com says Buddy is back in the car, Memo out. Poor Memo. He must feel so used.

According to italiaracing.net he will be replaced by former F3000 german driver Alex Muller.
Hemelgarn are unsatisfied with him...
With that dog of an engine do they reaaly think this newcomer can bring them to better results?

Wasn't Muller after the PDM seat for this year? What happened to PDM.

Here's a wacky rumour i heard from a mate in the US, Lazier may join Panther next year as a replacement for Hornish, who could take himself and the Pennzoil money to a third entry from Penske, Lazier had left so Hemelgarn could sort themselves out for the rest of this year to prepare for next year...........I can't really see it happening, interesting stuff though.

Who's in Giaffone's car this weekend?

That actually makes a fair bit of sense racer. Sam's choice is really between NASCAR and another IRL team, and he'll know that Penske will be a real chance to put 2003 behind him, while maybe doing some Busch races for Roger's team to see if stock cars are his future.

Not sure about the Giaffone car - hopefully Buddy, Barron or Memo.

If Alex Mulelrs' taking the drive, we can only assume that it's sponsorship. The 'American Dream' IRL is looking less American by the day.
