New engines in F!

With Toyota Jaguar and Renault all returning to F1 recently , what other engine suppliers may follow them into F1. The most likely I'd say would be Audi or Porsche , possibly VW.

Given Lotus don't make their own engines and VW/Audi are basically the same, that would leave Nissan (re badged renaults) and Porsche (never in a month of sundays, unless they get bought up. The next brand out of the one you've lissed will be the Minardi/Nissan or whatever they'll call it next year.

I don't think Audi or VW will come into f1 as they own Cosworth - who make the Jag engines. I think Nissan would probably be next, but I'd love to see Porsche, General Motors or even Lotus. Though, I would like to see Audi too.

I beleive, Ford own Cosworth! I maybe wrong!? The most likely outcome would be for Renault to supply Euro Minardi with engines badged as a Nissan, ensuring that their young charge St.Fernando will be a title contender for the Works Renault F1 team in the next couple of years.

I was pretty sure the VW group owned Cosworth. I too may be wrong. If I have two people shoot me down in flames, I'll accept my wrongness.

At this stage, I reckon Nissan (Renault) or Asiatech.

I beleive that Ford still owns the Racing division of Cosworth. VW did buy the customer part though.
Audi has been interested in F1 for a couple of years. They wanted to win at LeMans first though...
Also the are trying to compete with Daimler Chrysler and BMW. I think it would be cool if they supplied two teams. One badged VW, and the other Audi.

Absolutly correct.

Have heard a few whispers on the Detroit grapevine that GM may make another open wheel effort. (Are they not already supplying one of the IRL engines? The Olds Aurora?) They have been losing market share for years, and really need to do something to shake off their dusty image. Also with both Ford and Daimler-Chrysler heavily committed it looks like they are afraid to compete.

Or, one badged Bugatti and one badged Lamborghini... ok sounding like a broken record... again

I guess none of them above.

With this new formula coming around, no carmaker will be investing so much for so little time ahead.

I think that no new engine supplyer will come to the F1 next year.

The only chance is Nissan because it will be a Renault engine.

I think that the other engine suppleyer need more time to make a new engine, so the new suppleyer is for the season 2003.

I think it will be Bugatti (VW) perhaps also Porsche.

Ford own Cosworth, lock, stock and two misfiring exhaust-barrels...

I can't see anyone new coming in as things stand - you can only get one winner out of 22 each weekend, and they all have too much to lose and not enough to gain
