I wonder how competitive they’re going to be, the Civics weren’t the greatest in 2023 (though I think Cook still finished pretty high in the championship) and now they’re a year down on development. I guess we don’t really know how much has been going on behind closed doors, if Autosport are none the wiser and there’s been no official confirmation of a return from the team then it all seems a bit up in the air to me.

Yep, I'm not too hopeful given that the FK8 has kind of reached its limit with what can be done. I wish a team could bring in a pair of new FL-5s, but I doubt that would happen

The cars seemed to struggle balance wise once the hybrid was added, so with that gone & the car tinkered with, nothing to say they won’t match the Astra’s with the same TOCA engine.

I guess it all depends on how much work One have actually done in the past year , the Civic with Cook and the M-Sport engine could still be a threat to the likes of PMR.

Interestingly the post has now been taken down off Instagram so could be a false alarm. Would expect Colin to be announced before anyone new actually

colin is often the last driver wsr announce which is why theres an annual will he or wont he be racing

I suspect this may be Moffat he is usually early in declaring his plans and he will probably bring extra funding . De Leon deal more likely for the fourth car and wouldn’t be surprised to see him as part of an expansion for MB , team would then be 2 teams in one as per Toyota last year .

Might be a bit off the mark here, but having seen Un-Limited testing at Donington with the Duckhams decals removed from the car, I'm going to say they'll have a new title sponsor for next year.

Maybe worth remembering that Duckhams were a surprise sponsor on the day of the first race . Until then it was expected that the car would be basically plain and many thought the team would be somewhat short lived . The fact they are increasing is very optimistic and probably wouldn’t be entertained without a sponsor package being in place . Also their is some conflict as to whether Duckhams would be acceptable market wise to other teams mainly WSR

I think WSR and Duckhams would be a non starter , would probably be a clash with having whoever BMWs engine oil supplier is.

That is a great point and something I guess we'll have to wait and see about, I thought it was pretty much dealers now as opposed to anything from BMW HQ.

I guess if someone came with a big sponsor like the eBay Motors days that could brand a couple of the cars they'd do it.

BMW wanted to put less money in next season, so it will be interesting to see if they budge on the ‘no rival brands’ to the BMW dealer/suppliers/after sales etc.

How much money did BMW bring in the recent past anyway? Don't think it was significant enough to serve as a big sponsor financing WSR's whole budget and paying salaries to the drivers. So they'd need to step up significantly in order to help Thompson get a full-time drive there, something that will sadly never happen.

Think the only way you'd have got Thompson back at WSR is a deal involving MB Partners etc helping out. Looks like that ship has sailed but hopefully there's still a chance Bobby is on the grid somewhere.
