Dudman Civics coming back? Dudman? One Motorsport? Where will all the Cupras go? WSR looking for 4 or 5 cars? Anything for Carl Boardley? Some customer Hyundai cars? More cars than last year? New teams? Some good clues hopefully.

He has been a bit disappointing since moving to BMW but might be better back in front-wheel-drive. I think he was really dragging results out of the Mercedes in 2019-2020.

Suddenly things look very interesting at Hyundai . The hope is all four cars will be filled with quality drivers along the lines at Alliance . Morgan can be quick in both FWD and RWD, only concern is he can be over combative which is the reason for his inconsistency and being embroiled in physical scrapes which don’t always go his way . Certainly looking like a less boring off season than may have thought with lots of potential moves .

Morgan to Excelr8 would be a pretty astute move all around. Would give them another quick experienced driver that brings sponsorship.

Wonder where that would leave WSR? I just can't see the Aidan Moffat rumours working out from how things went south with Speedworks and various posters on here with stories. I know they're never going to be short of options but this is shaping up to be a really interesting off-season.

Probably the most expensive drive on the grid £500k to £600k would be my guess. Without damage.

Yeah I would expect it to be that kind of figure for WSR and Excler8. Probably not a lot of drivers that can bring £600k a season to a team without a major sponsor.

Not a million miles out, Dan told me 2022 with them was £200k plus repairs and has risen a fair bit since..

So £200k to £600k in two years? That’s rather concerning!

I'd be surprised if the budgets were as low as £200k for BTCC given the level. Even GB3 is now well over double that.

Dan Lloyd’s repair bill for one incident was £100K wasn’t it? So a full season to run the car must surely have been more than £200K?

Yeah.

To do a full season of Ginetta GT Academy, which is 8 rounds, and reusing tyres and doing minimal repairs, is around £150k. I cannot see a full season in BTCC being only £50k more.

Depends if it was a part funded seat by team sponsors. Some drivers are only required to bring a partial budget. Though not many seats line that available.

But we were not talking about "partial budgets".

It was stated that the cost of a drive may cost £500-600K.

tocatrucky then stated that he was "told" a drive in 2022 was £200K.

Think £600K is about on the money

I would agree with that.

Some teams a bit more, some a bit less, but it is there or thereabouts, and is getting more expensive every year.

I read it that Dan told him his drive was £200k, not drives we’re £200k

If we're looking at £500-600k base for a front running seat (probably can include Speedworks in there with the works backing)

How much would the minimum be required for a driver to get on the grid? £300k for the Cupras?

So what you're saying is that with drives being £500-600K, his drive was £200K?

Did he get a special discount?

It was likely a part subsidised seat, they do exist.

So One Motorsport are back it will be interesting to see if they run the Honda's again or something different.

The rest is pretty much as expected.
