And it makes Sato start thinking "are these blow-ups down to me"? Which could make him drive slower.
Psychology from Jenson. David Richards, who wants both drivers to be fast and finishing, was much more circumspect. |

KB. You haven't read the link I posted.
And you should also read what Jensen has to say about Sato in his post qualifying interview on Saturday (more complimentary than JPM's comments). Totally opposite from your viewpoint. |

I did read the links, but when you see the same people quoted in different places saying contrary things, it makes you doubt their accuracy - or at least how they've been interpreted.

Yes, that's why I posted links to direct quotes.

I know that Peter, but I've heard and seen direct quotes saying different things to those ones

I think Jenson is learning the art of mind games to a degree...there was certainly a reason why he said his comments about Taku live on Worldwide tv for millions of poeple to hear ....its called mind games..
Lets face it , although Taku hasnt has the results , he has out paced Button a fair bit recently , which is something Jenson obviously would not like....If Jenson can cause Taku pressure in other area's it may affect Taku's outright pace....Thats what all this stuff about Sato blowing his engines is about IMO... anyway , im a fan of Jenson too , but i do think its a bit of mind games going on there to try and slow Taku down abit.. Funny, (and I don't disagree with your theory) I just didn't read any of that into his [Jenson's] words. But then again I read them, I didn't hear them.
I also read that DR is quoted as not being pleased. So two things to reinforce the opinion that Sato is to some extent hurting his chances. Your view of the possible effect of Jenson's words and DR who has access to all the telemetry. He is good no doubt but he is definitely not helping himself. Points mean prizes. |

Well, the showdown between Sato and Button is developing into a good rivalry. Imho, Sato really wants to prove that he is better, aggressive and faster than Button...all in all he wants to prove that he has the edge over Button. Imho they are not really 'friends'.. at least it doesnt appear so. Even if they dont like each other, main thing for DR is to keep them under check for at least this season before it becomes more like a JPM-Ralf situation. Taku wants it all and he wants it soon. |

Exactly.
David has achieved this before and there's no reason why he won't again. |

Rubbish. He's never going to achieve anything with Jenson. Er did I get that right?

Is it just me, but i do find Sato, JPM and maybe JV are quite in the same mould, driving with their heart...

Driving with your heart is not necessarily a bad thing.

The person Sato reminds me of is Alesi
very similar approach to their racing, lets hope Taku enjoys a more fruitful career though I wonder if Alesi would get a ride in F1 these days if he was a young gun just starting out, probably not as F1 seems to be less patient with new recruits.....it's "perform immediately or ****-off" these days Taku had better start performing soon |

Alesi would be okay, frederick - he performed from his first Grand Prix onwards.
Taku is also usually fast, he just needs to eliminate some of his overdriving. But his place in the team is not under threat, either. |

Sato has a long way to go before I'd compare him to Alesi.

Is that along way to go in terms of improving his performance, or just a lot more GPs to complete?
What was Alesi's record btw? |

garcon, both and more (pls don't **** in my cornflakes, it's just my opinion). Alesi was more than just a good pilot, he was also a gentleman. His only win was at the Canadian GP and I almost cried.
Peter, you make me raff! |

No I just meant that there were similarities in style, you couldn't do a comparison yet.
If Taku does nothing else in his career you can at least give him credit for making this season interesting, judging by all the discussions on this and other forums about him. We've lost our "Crazy Alesi" and gained a "Psycho Sato" to keep us entertained and give us something to talk about after the race. |

Quite true and that's why I pointed out what his team mate said about him (living and breathing racing) although it was suggested that this may not be a true quote.
