Tom, I feel you are amongst those who don't give Bernie the recognition he deserves. Sure, he has done alot of things we may not like, but so has Max Mosely. Yet, unlike Max, Bernie has also done ALOT of good things for the sport of Formula 1. He was the man who bought F1 out of the dark ages, and into the media limelight. He was the one who made F1 drivers superstars.

And, perhaps most importantly, Bernie was the one who made F1 into something the TV stations around the world want to package and deliver to people's TV screens. Back in the 70's TV coverage of Grand Prix's in Britain was almost nonexistent - only the British and Monaco's GP were broadcast live regularly...look where we are today....

Tom - I think Bernie has more brains than the rest of F1 put together.

To be able to manipulate all those so called clever F1 team owners for all these years is very clever.

The manufacturers though.....a different matter.

He may have 'created' F1 but the way things are going we will be able to credit him with its destruction.
Greed and power always destroy .........
It will not be many years before F1 will mean the fans have to travel to the countries that dont mind cigarette advertising and the places that will pave the tracks with gold for him ie:middle east/oil,Russia/mafia,far east/triads plus cigarette advertising from people like phillip morris could give him total world domination
Hmmmmmmmm wasnt there some crackpot about sixty odd years ago who wanted the same thing?
He was short too!!!!!

Sorry!

I only said that to see from what people would say a year and a half on from when it was posted. Yeah he does have a brain, but the ideas of tracks in the orient is a bit bizarre...
