No Rustad/Opel out today, they had problems with the software to their engine. On a lighter note, the team is building a new car that will replace the current one, that will be downgraded to a spare car. The Astra Coupe with Fridh wasn't out today either; I noticed that the two teams (Euromaster and Opel Team Sweden) was very good friends in Knutstorp so to say - parked next to each other in the pitlane, and Fridh even had a OTS sticker on his car. I wonder if they too suffer from Opel's software problems?

Also, Tegelby in a third Mercedes, surely a typo? His BMW got smashed up pretty good at Knutstorp, but I cannot fathom how he would end up in a Mercedes instead?

Tegelby was running his repaired BMW 320i E46 which is the ex-Sandström-BMW.

Indeed, I also remember Flash banging it up at Gelleråsen when he drove it, cant imagine much on that chassie being straigt. And once you've straighten a chassie it never gets the exact same, so I'd imagine that chassie would be quite tricky to set up and stuff.

It won't take another crash, thats for sure.

I'm at Mantorp now, the weather is great, should be some great racing today. The first test of the day starts in one hour.

Yeah, Tommy Rustad, Roger Eriksson, Joakim Frid och Hans Simonsson all out in the first corner according to STCC.se.
Was the same story last year, then only 8 cars crossed the line IIRC, Mantorp has always been hard on the cars for some reason.
Looking forward to see the races on TV tomorow, should be great!

Alex K has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Johan hasn't been racing , but Goransson should go for it now, 12points behind Dahlgren, many rounds still to go, he can do it.

Go for it Rickard! :P

A interesting race, but with a lot of strange penalties (usual these days).

Stippler got a drive through for keeping his car too far to the right at the rolling start... I don't know how many cars that got a drive-through for crossing the white line at the pit exit.

They aren't exactly consistent with the penalties as Dahlgren got -5 places in this qualifying for pushing Tegelby in to the wall at Knutstorp while crossing a white line gives drive through... Which is worst?

Anyhow, a nice dominant victory for Göransson. Nice battles through the entire field and it was a long time ago I saw the field so close.

30 minutes with highlights from Mantorp.

(oh, and the moustaches on the drivers is not the latest craze in Sweden but a fund raising stunt for prostate cancer research.)

I would still be furious if I was Stippler, they robbed the poor guy completely in my opinion.

Yes, he was a bit too far too the right at the start, and it created a sort of three row start and confusion. But that is where the starter should have aborted the started and given them a second formation lap and sort themselves out.

A drive-through for that was just way too harsh and decided the race too much. As always, penalties in STCC are strange and inconsistent. Will that never change?

Interestingly enough, if it happened in the BTCC, he would have got the same penalty!
