Well, it is not "official" yet.

The WMC still needs to ratify it.

Flavio said the truest thing ive heard a team boss say;

“We hardly ever think about the spectators.

“We should be about entertainment but the racing is boring...".

Greenback has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
""In 2007, it is proposed that Bridgestone only be allowed to offer two specifications of tyre to the entire field. Previously, tyre suppliers could prepare two specs for each team.""

Do you think the above rule change will favour the new bridgestone runners next season? Is this FIA's reply to Flavio request to narrow the tyre advantage for next year?

The FIA ammended the tyre rule by crossing out three words-"to each team",so we can assume that all the teams will have a choice of only two compounds.
So in answer to your question,No i don't think it will give the Bridgestone runners an advantage,and yes,Flavio's request has been answered.
It would not do either the tyre supplier or F1 any good if were seen to be favouring the handling characteristics of one car.
Here's to a closer F1 season in 2007,even if when they do get close,they can't get passed.

Presumably, considering that Ferrari have done the majority of Bridgestone's tyre development since they came into F1, Bridgestone will carry on in that direction, giving Ferrari an advantage for maybe the first few races until the other teams adjust to the characteristics of the new rubber.

Hopefully the tyres will be different enough for all the teams to need to test them and get used to them to some degree.Particularly as it seems that at present the tyre manufacturers seem to be coming up with vastly different constructions and compounds at every race.

But i would also think that since there are no changes to the car regs for next season (and to the performance gains which that implies),Max will be pinning his hopes on Bridgestone increasing the lap times.
