At home - Are you ready for the 24 Heures du Mans - Useful Links

Your checklist might include the following bookmarks (favorites) in your web browser under a separate folder titled 24 Heures...

1. http://tentenths.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=101
This is the direct link to the 24 Hours stuff on the ten-tenths.com website. Come race day you are probably going to want to find this page rather quickly. Also, don't forget where to find the ten-tenths IRC chat and how to use it during the race. Check it out now.

2. Favorite Timing and Scoring. Here are few recommendations:
a. http://www.lemanslive.com/en/classem...time-position/

b. http://www.lemans.org/en/races/24h/update.html
Look for the chronos link on this site which is the Official ACO 24 Heures du Mans website. It is configurable in several languages including English.

c. http://www.thomasbaekdal.com/mini-sites/lemans2011/
A really good tracker and twitter api for the teams/drivers

3. Twitter or Facebook account tied into your favorite 24 hours thingy.

4. Favorite video and audio links. Very important if you are going to follow this event on the web. Have back up links ready as you will no doubt need them during the course of this race.

What else??? Beer, plenty of race food, coffee. Newer PC or Laptop with quality video/audio card, broadband web connection, no interruptions during the race unless it is by another 24 Heures fan.

I know there are more (sleep before the race is not one of them).

Your additional's.

Unfortunately for the second straight year I have to include work in that 24 hour plan, and no cable to even record the missed parts. At least the truck's radio has a USB slot and so RLM will be my companion back and forth to work all this week and next 40 minutes at a time. Any justin.tv links would be great for a sat night catch-up though.

Is the Speed online streaming Sat afternoon a region limited US stream? I used to love it cause I would put qualifying for F1 on the 29" tv, play FM2/3 on the 42", Speed on the laptop muted with RLM audio. It would drive my old roommates nuts but was a great couple hours of motorsports.

You could always find any working video stream and listen to the Radio Le Mans feed. I find this to be much more comfortable than listening to the Speed guys for any number of hours.

Some useful links:

http://www.radiolemans.com/

http://tv.audi.com/#/01

http://www.peugeot-sport.com/fr/accueil.html

http://twitter.com/#!/baekdal24hours/le-mans-teams

My plan (I'm in the UK): watch Eurosport on TV with sound muted and listen to Radio Le Mans on laptop with live timing and Audi TV side by side on screen; flick to Peugeot TV and any other live streaming.

No wedding this year! (I had to be at a close mate's wedding last year on Le Mans weekend so missed most of the race, honored to be one of the groomsmen though Steve)

Will park myself on the couch for the weekend with plenty of caffeine and fight the urge to slumber.

We made the big mistake last year of having the fire going and consequently lapsing into unconsciousness around 4.00am. I don't normally indulge in energy drinks, but have a supply on hand for this year.

I´m set, the fridge is full of caffeine, DVR is set to record every minute of Eurosport footage... my BMW & Peugeot flags are up and friends and relatives know me well enough to not bother me before monday morning..

Unless the house is on fire there's no way I´m leaving the TV until Sunday afternoon starting Saturday

I'm all set and ready at home but Radio Le Mans appears to have stopped streaming, less than ten minutes before the first session

Ahh glad it wasn't just me, I'd only just got to RLM and then it stopped - am partway through booting up another PC to see if that was the problem, it seems to be stopping and starting but I thought it might be my underpowered netbook struggling to run RLM and ES Player at the same time!
