PoweredByHonda should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
How big is this sponsorship deal with gazprom gonna be?
Is it going to be similiar to the Petronas (we'll pay for your engines ol' Pete, but lie to the world and tell em we made your engines.) deal with Sauber?

Steve, try a McDonalds logo - the name McMinardi appeals to me. In fact, McDonalds can fashion a new desert called the McMinardi - it comes last after everything else.

Sounds better than the Minardi-Gazprom (in the Sauber Petronas mould).

Paul said alex could stay in some sort of testing role. he is funded for next year if gazprom pay up and said that the Gazprom money would take care of the engine bill. KL and possibly Magnum will stay on the car. Jos turned down the drive Ants got but if he brings some money with him Jos might be with Minardi next year. Mark better sign up with Jaguar soon or he'll miss both the Toyota or Jaguar drives, unless he ends up alongside Nick H at Jordan. Verstappen and Wilson in at Minardi, Alex as test driver, Massa in at Toyota (or Webber) and webber at Jaguar. Arrows? Who knows what is going on there.

Mark won't miss out on a good drive next year; there are several variables which need to be resolved : Eddie's drive first of all, then the engine deal at Minardi just might convince Mark to stay where he is, and I honestly think that the Toyota thing is a red herring as 2/3rds of the drivers in F1 have been rumoured to be going there together with some guys from CART.

Judging from the size of Gazprom's advertising space...i figure they only pay enough for a Russian driver to be tested this year. If everything is sealed and materialised i guess the sponsorship deal could be the about the same amount as Yoong's backers paid for next season.

Jos turned down this years Minardi drive because he knows the Asiatech engine, he said he would like to race for Minardi, but not with that engine.

Maybe they'll change the name from KL to Gazprom Minardi - that should bring in a few more Roubles. I suppose Alex might switch to F3000. That would be more to his standard.

There are really strong rumours around that Ferrari is open to providing Minardi with engines, and that is something Minardi is working hard for.

Considering that Ferrari have the spare resources (they afterall expanded their customer engines operation in 2000), and that Minardi could well pay for the engine with their latest partner, i really hope this deal pulls through. How about Minardi pays a lower cost, and get one engine which is one-year old, as opposed to the Sauber's expensive deal that lands them half-year old engines?

Just get the Ferrari unit!

As for Asiatech, they seem to be very serious about their bid into F1. First they produce work engines, then they hired aerodynamicist and engineers (some poached from other teams), and now, they want to show their first F1-windtunnel model to the world at Monza... Looks like we are going to have a new team in F1 rather soon. Thinking of which, coupled to the Pheonix group as well as RedBull and Pollocks great interest to have teams in F1, the future of F1 doesn't look too bleak does it?

It seems Asiatech want to be in F1 with their own chassis in 2004.

I will make another proclamation here: Asiatech will never get off the ground with their own chassis plus engine. We were told before this season that the Asiatech engine will be different - that it will be a more powerful new engine - yeah right! In fact I am predicting that Asiatech will not feature in F1 again after this year.
