I've been there a couple of times too. Always a good spot for a beer on a sunny day when there's no on-track action.

The hotel has now been done up but it used to be a great place with signed pictures helmets steering wheels all over the walls, and we went there every year on the friday but now do St saturin, we went there one thursday a few years ago and it was nice to sit and chat with racing people and fans. The walk up to the joan of arc memorials is a nice bit of excercise

We went last year and it still has all of that.

Food was decent and strangely cheap considering the restaurant is rather well known.

It is on my 'to do' list for this year and has been on it last two years. When the weather is good, and it will be, I'll go for lunch on thursday.

For those who make the trip to the Hotel de France @ La Chartre you are in for a treat. In the newly refurbished Bar, there is now a very special time-line wallpaper depicting every car that raced at Le Mans and was based at the Hotel over the years plus Photos of drivers and celebrities. The new owner is a motorsport nut and is planning some special events for the 24hrs & Classic weeks.
