If the entry's been submitted it'll surely get accepted thanks to it being the first all-female crew since Matech Ford GT1 in 2010 as well as the political implifications inside the FIA

Just two weeks for the first batch of entries to be announced, before the final 10+10 in 4½ weeks.

Not as much excitement for the lists here as in previous years, I gather. Most of the field is set and no new LMP1s being launched. Will they bother making press conferences?

Suspect it'll be a fairly generic class split to last years, only with the Ginettas removed for P2s, but the similar 30-30 proto-GTE split remaining for ??? reasons

Once again I'm going to beat the "Factory efforts should be 2, max of 3 cars" drum. If we end up with good Am teams who have supported the series for a long time being dropped, just so we can have another Ford GT before they leave anyway, I won't be a happy man.

Not that my happiness matters in this situation!

Risk announcing LM24 plans: https://www.motorsportweek.com/news/id/21404

They might not get the entry granted, imo it's unlikely the ACO will choice a one-off 2019 IMSA entrant over a full seasonal one, particularly from the ELMS. And there'll plenty of GTE-Pro entries no matter what (probably 16).

Maybe they will enter the Sebring WEC race to convince the selecting committee?

They might just as well enter Sebring, and if left at the bottom of LM reserves when the second batch of entries are announced in early March, then withdrawn from it

http://www.dailysportscar.com/2019/0...cing-team.html

Hiven the vague timeline, I guess G56 is out of the question (?) for 24 hours , but if the thing is entered for MLMC I guess it would get entry for RTLM.-- It really should be a 2 hour race instead of 2x 55min, and the first half which can't even been seen.

Anyway, this bit was funny:
"Gérard Neveu, CEO of FIA WEC and ELMS concluded: “Endurance racing broke the mould in 2012, when the FIA World Endurance Championship first included hybrid prototypes."

As if there hadn't been hybrids beforehand at Le Mans

It looks as if the LMP2 Dallara pack is shrinking further and will perhaps only feature 2 cars at LM

http://www.dailysportscar.com/2019/0...19-season.html

With High Class Racing moving away from racing with Dallara, there may well be no P217s on the grid for the full ELMS season in 2019. Racing Team Nederland and Cetilar Racing are committed to the FIA WEC (though Cetilar will race at Monza) and AVF and SMP Racing are unlikely to return to LMP2 competition this year. DSC understands though, that another notable team could still yet emerge from left field to race with Dallara this season.

So the first batch of entry announcements is due to tomorrow (I guess there won't be press conferences anymore, which is bit lackluster) however I have a feeling Bykolles will have TBA next to their engine... Perhaps that'll get clarified for the March entry update

That will be cool to see. Hopefully this leads to an opening up by Ford to allow their cars to be raced by privateers.

Still think these split announcements are stupid. Why not just name all of them in March? Hopefully this gets rectified next year.

Bit of a damp squib really - all they've announced is pretty much what we already knew- the full-season WEC cars and the auto entries

As expected this whole split announcement thing is a complete joke. It used to be the most anticipated non-racing day of the year. Now get this farce.
