Raglanparade should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
flat battery and ECU

I have a 1993 Mitsubishi Verada, and the other morning i suffered a flat battery breakdown due to the alternator not working.

$370 later, with a new alternator and new battery on board, i have found there are still problems with the car.

It seems as since the power has been switched off, the Idle Speed has been reduced, thus the car has stalled a few times.

Once i am sitting still at lights it will rev at 800 rpm, but if i am manovoring into a carspot or cruising up to lights at low speed, the engine will dip below 500rpm and die.

Is this related to the ECU has it is an all electric car ?

How can this be fixed ?

I'm not an electronics expert, but as I understand it some of the control parameters in the ECU are preset, others are 'learnt'. On some cars, if the battery is disconnected for 30 minutes or so the learnt values may be lost; if this happens it may take a while for the system to reoptimise itself. I'd give it a few days before doing anything - if the problem persists it may be necessary to have somebody do a diagnostic check on it.

Magna's have a problem that whenever you disconnect the battery the base idle will need to be reset by a Mitsubishi Dealer, it looses it s memory
