Forgot to include the Camera info Fujica STX with a Tamron 60 - 300mm tele zoom which I've only just replaced with a EOS 30 not bad considering I got that camera (STX) in 1982

The above photo is one of the best I have seen on this thread, nicely composed, sharp, there good contrast in the image. Well done!

I'll second that. Difficult to pin down exactly why - the reflection, the composition, the sence of speed, the driver's body language, or maybe a comination of all of the above.

I really have a lot of trouble pinning it down to 1 or a few photos (I think I wound up taking about 2000 of the blighters last year). But a few that always stick in my mind:
First of all, probably not the best one, but I love the red and yellow on the blue. That first turn on the beach side of the Surfers Paradise CART track is probably one of my favourite places anywahere- with the Champ Cars often lifting wheels, and the V8s flying over the kerbs. |

This one goes back to Bathurst 1998, and the Porsche Cup. You know when sometimes you've taken a shot of an accident or a car in the air or belching flame, that you've got it just right? I remember taking this one and thinking "Shoot, I hope that sucker turns out..". Bathurst is magical, I could spend all day every day there looking for new photo spots.

I always love the old historics. This one is Rod McMullin's V8 Ford Special at the Mt Cotton Hillclimb having a red hot go last year.

Bring back Lakeside! After growing up there, it was only in the last 12 months that it was open that I totally sussed the place out. For a 1.5mile long track, there were an awful lot of opportunities. One of the best was of course Hungry Corner, you could always get cars up on 2 wheels, doing things that they would never do at any other track...

le mans
like somebody else said, when you're marshallling there's no chance to take pictures...but at le mans when you're not on shift..
A short cycle ride down to the inside of Mulsanne corner - a few words of franglais with the Chef de Poste and I got one of the best viewing spots on the circuit.. hope this attaching thingy works |
