Club Formula Ford Zetec

Having received the finals for Silverstone on 15th April (for another class) the Club Zetecs seem to have disappeared.

Has it been cancelled or something?

Yes they have John. The whole series is going to run with the UK Formula Ford series now as they only had 8 registered drivers.

I had two drivers who were going to start at the second round so had not yet registered, shame the organisers made this decision without letting the teams know that the championship may be cancelled.I think it is unlikely my drivers will be interested in racing with the UK championship!

Looks like it is Formula 4 for you then Barry.

It might be a giggle to race in the National championship for one race or two. How much is the entry for a one off race in Zetec class?

Details are on the Club Formula Ford site, I think there is a link to a press release from Ford/Racing Line. Basically, the costs won't be as high as they could be.

On Barry's point - surely it is very hard to consult teams who have not registered any interest in the championship? I know that sounds trite, but organisers can't make decisions based on registrations that might come in.

Nope, car not ready yet - but they kindly sent me the finals anyway. Maybe hoping to encourage late additions.

Ian I didn't expect them to get in touch with me, but perhaps contact the teams already registered or let everybody know via the Club Formula Ford website that the championship could be cancelled due to a lack of entries. As soon as the already registered teams were made aware they started ringing round to try and drum up a bit more support for the Silverstone round so it could still take place.

There is a problem with supplying the new Duratec engines too

autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/sffcdrivers/message/1447

Don't read it if bad language upsets you!

Can't see how they'll great one full grid of Duratec cars for the festival ?
