Lucky his team is there to celebrate with Piastri. The FIA guys and the men in white dresses only care about Verstappen.

That is a bit sad.

Beau2 has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Well done Piastri! And congrats to Max.

I don't think Piastri quite has the raw speed of Norris but he looks more composed and makes less mistakes up the front. What a fantastic rookie season - probably the best since Hamilton in 2007.

Piastri wins before Norris. Tough for Lando.

Yes hand out the medal to #2 first!

At least finally they have a bit of attention for Oscar Piastri.

But just a tiny bit.
They are back with Verstappen immediatly.
I think the FIA guy and the men in white dresses should care more about first winner !

It was a sprint race though, it doesn’t count as a win unless it is a Grand Prix. But still a good drive and it would be nice if Piastri were to win a real Grand Prix soon.

Verstappen has just won his 3rd WDC, so I wouldn't expect anything less from the FIA guy and it is in Quatar, so I can see why the men in white dresses would want to focus their attention on him.

Any you not agree is OK.

But I found that sad.

Everyone talk to Max and hand out medal for finishing second.
Ow yes, there is winner too. Who is he, where is he?
OK, got medal. Quickly back to Verstappen.

I think that is sad.

But OK if you think not.

But OK if you think not.

You are reading too much into it and not putting it into context. Max has just won his 3rd WDC, his 3rd in a row. It's hardly surprising all the attention is on him. If it wasn't, that would be sad.

Sorry if you offended but I still think was sad.

I would hand out medal to winner.
Hand out medal to 2nd, and then 3rd. Like always.
Then when done and everyone got attention like deserved, then have time to celebrate world champion.

Is what I would do.

I might be wrong but I got the distinct feeling that at least one member of the Stroll family realises that the family name is unlikely to ever adorn the Drivers Championship trophy.

Location checks out here but really pleased to see Oscar get his first F1 race victory, managing his tyres to hold off max near the end was impressive.

Congratulations to Max - sterling effort to win his 3rd WDC.

Good for Piastri to win, even if it’s only a sprint race. Max champion after yet more trouble for Checo

Nice work by Piastri and by Norris after a poor start where he was swamped by the soft starters. Max did what we knew he would do from the start of the season, so congrats for that but I'm decidedly underwhelmed that he did it in a sprint race. Although, to be fair, it was probably my favourite sprint race of them all so far.

Im an Aussie and support Piastri.

However the people making noise about Max getting prime focus after the sprint need to get a grip
One driver had just won the WHOLE CHAMPIONSHIP in a canter, he was now world champion. The other had just won a Non GP saturday stand alone support race (yes theres points but its not an official grand prix,)

And if Max was not protecting his points to wrap it up, he could well have won that race.

SO yes the bloke who just wrapped up a hat trick of WDC and dominated all year, goes before a young fellow who got a win in a support event. However something tells me it wont be too long before Oscar starts seeing some of that glory.

I was a bit sad to see Checo be involved in another incident. He came up on those two so fast, had be pulled back a bit he would have sailed past both the next corner. The conversations in the team must be "interesting" to say the least.

I was thinking about Lance Stroll. He is not comparable to Alsono, as very few is, but I wonder abut his form this year. Some say he is just not very good, but I think he is actually pretty decent, if a little weak mentally. But, he had that accident yearly in the year, and I've seen on boards more than once where he takes his hand of the wheel. Considering how Danny Ric had been out of the car for a long time after his hand incident, it got me thinking.

Is Lance still not recuperated from his hand injury? Should he have stayed out of the car for a month or so after the accident? My hypothesis is he would have been producing better results now if he had.

Im not overly enthusiastic about Qatar as an actual race track but i will say that the qualifying laps are pretty fun to watch. So many fast corners.

Not sure how Perez survives at Red Bull without anyone in the media questioning his future? In the dominant car hes not made Q3 in almost half of the events this season?

Im really pleased about Mclaren, i kept thinking that their increased performance was maybe just a flash in a pan or down to specific circuits but it seems that they have genuinely managed to close the gap to the front.

And laps on used tyres count towards the 18. Also no differentiation has been made between the tyre compounds. This is a terrible idea, surely some cars will be running out of tyres at the end and doing lots of short stints on softs to finish? Also now a complete fluke in terms of who has the best tyres left. Formula 1 is taking safety concerns way too far here.
