The demos are for any genuine car that has applied and has been accepted. I don't plan on doing them at present. Terry Ashwood is expected to bring out the Winfiled Godzilla and Gavin strongman is also expected to bring out the GIO Godzilla aswell.

I hope these type of events dont take away from Historic meetings where these guys have their own races. Would be sad to see the grids drop because people want to do demo's at V8 events, etc.

You would imagine organisers would want nicely presented cars such as this one...

... on track for the festivities

I would think reduction in numbers at Historic meetings would be unlikely, as this is the first time in a long time I would think it has more to do with the last ATCC meeting at OP, ever (?).

The '90s seasons usually ended at OP, don't know long it was for so I have resisted using the word "Traditional".

I see your points, You may see some V8 stars jump in the cars ala Jason Richards in Stubbers A9X etc. which could make a great spectacle - 3 or 4 top drivers in various cars...or drivers re united...

The Group C Assoc. have been appointed category manager for this meeting so you need to apply to them. I look forward to seeing you there.

Understand your sentiment Bullett but I'd prefer to see Paul punting the car than nearly all V8 drivers ... at PI** Paul is good to watch .... sentimentality allows Steven Richards or Harves, Harrop, O'Brien, Negus etc.

** make that everywhere !!

I think to say 20 entries is a joke is a little harsh. Many guys can't afford to do too many races as we don't have sponsors to pay the bills. And obviously the "Grand Finale" is a more desirable option for many of us. Sandown Historics will be there next year, but a meeting like the fast taxis at OP won't, that's two reasons for my decision not to go to Sandown this year. Another is that I cam be more competitive at OP than I can at Sandown where to a degree, all you need is power to be up the front. OP is different, handling and braking can make up for the lack of power which obviously suits the M3 better. The HSRCA was going to put us on the programme for the Tasman Revival meeting between Sandown and OP, meaning we would have had 3 meetings in 4 weeks, wouldn't have got many entries to Tasman Revival with that timing, and therefore not done the category or the meeting justice.

40 entries, no Tweedie (blew an engine at Sandown) Markland will be there (spare engine after his Sandown blow up) LaRosa doing parade laps only in the Alf Grant HR31, Ashwood in the Winfiled Godzilla doing parade laps, my old 635 will be there and is better than new I'm told, a spectacular restoration was how it was described to me. John Smith in the Supra and David Holc in the Commodore should be the stand outs for the weekend in my opinion. I'd be very happy with a top 5 finish.
3, 12 lap races, end of the day Friday and Saturday and first up on Sunday at 8.30am.
