I think it will be Sauber......... or Renault, or Jordan, or BAR, but definately not Prost or Minardi.

Contrary to other opinions, Jordan will be a threat next year. They have the vastly under-rated Fisichella plus new hot-shoe Sato, and Eghbal Hamidy designed car plus a works Honda which will surely provide more grunt next year.
Renault may be a factor, but it will depend on driving line-up as Button is the weakest link in the whole scenario. Trulli is undoubtedly talented but hopefully they get rid of Button and put Alonso as number 2. As for Sauber, they will struggle more than this year. Heidfeld will still give his all but with the loss of Rinland, the car will probably not be the beaut machine it was this year. And there is a question mark over how Massa will perform. |

Fourth Team Poll
Quote:
I believe that Mercedes/McLaren is going to continue to slip, and that another team will surpass them next season. They will need a champion driver to come second, and with all due respect, they don't have one. My next guess is that Renault will bump them out of third place, but this is a much harder call. If we're right, remember you read it here! (Otherwise, please forget it.) |

I wish that it will be BAR otherwise JV is well and truly down the drain Maybe 2003. I don't get the point of an early launch.
It won't be Sauber either for various reasons people have already mentioned. Could be Renault, Jenson isn't totally rubbish. Could be Jordan too, again for reasons already mentioned. Arrows? Maybe 2003... |

My call is Jordan. Everyone seems to have forgotten how impressive Hamidy's aerodynamics were for straight-line speed, and I doubt Hodna will get it wrong again. A shame Justin Wilson isn't in the team, but all the same I think they'll be on top.

My vote goes to the silver team... Why it's not on the list!!! "4 star boys"
If McLaren wants to keep into the top 3, then they must fight Renault and Sauber...then on, Jordan. |

I think mclaren will be down there. As posted today, the design of their new tub is flawed and they're now thinking of starting 2002 with the 2001 car. Prost is also looking likely to start like this and so is Ferrari (even though they are now saying that they will be starting with the new car). Each of their reasons are different:
1. Ferrari have several new developments that they don't think will be reliable enough to start the season with, so they'll use a modified version of the 'all singing and dancing' 2001 car. 2. Prost have nothing else. 3. McLaren's new 2002 composite monocoque is fundamentally flawed leaving them with no choice but to start with the old car. For 2002, its going to be: 1/2. Ferrari/Williams 3. Jordan 4/5. McLaren/Renault 6. Sauber (Massa to do a good job) 7/8/9. Toyota/BAR/Jaguar |

My vote goes for Jordan but I think Sauber and Renault can also fight for this place. If EJ's team had more reliability they can secure the 4th place.

JORDAN will p*ss over the rest of the midfield next year to secure 4th place making BAR, in particular, look like the chumps they are and questionning Honda's frankly bizzare decision to sign BAR up to the end of 2005...
Happy Xmas!!! |

It'll be Jordan, with BAR and Renault right up there. Sauber's past season was a fluke; Massa will NOT be another Raikkonen and Rinland will be missed and the funding is questionable without Mateschitz Marks.
Arrows could be a surprise if they are able to dump Bernoldi and sign Frentzen. |
